I'm amazed by how awful the dealers are. They don't return calls. they don't know the cars. They don't understand their customers.

I have never been sold a car, I have had to make the moves and ‘buy ‘ them all... ie search them out.

Remember my first Jaguar, I was basically ignored by my local dealer when I wandered in on more than three occasions . Ended up buying via an ad in The Times from a dealer in the north at a very good price 5000 miles unseen. The car was a Jaguar demo and still registered to my local dealer! Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I was one of their enquiries but went for a newer black car instead with steps

I asked cost to remove the fixed steps on that car and replace with deployable and they quoted the full price. They also loaded my cost to change with a bunch of insurance product stuff (2.5k of gap/tyre/paint) without asking or mentioning.
Finally I thanked the guy for his help and said I was going for another one and didn't get a reply

Having said that the car sounded good and seems one of the best out there. Nice ones from lr dealers seem to sell quick if right colour and miles

Only vehicle I have ever bought at sticker price was a couple of years ago for a Porsche Boxster S, good specialist dealer with full history and low mileage (as most have) it was six years old, had it a year and when time came to sell got in touch with the dealer again and he bought it back at just £600 less than I paid........that’s cheap motoring!

Not many marques you can do that with though.

I cannot think of any other I would pay full whack for, plenty else around. David

Please let me know if my comments upset you, I may wish to upset you again.

This is always a difficult one in my mind. I know theer is always markup but at the same time if its the spec I want and ata price Im prepared to pay its difficult to hold my nerve to get the discount!
