United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver
Rear flexI brake hoses

Hi all spending quite a bit on the ff as it’s mot month. The rear brake flexis will need changing soon but the pair are just shy of £200 from Dan. Has anyone come across the brand allmakes as they do their own version of them for 1/4 price. Anyone used these? Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF

Hi Dan,
you sure about the part number???, its LR058025 / 26 left and right. I bought mine in 2015 and then they were £31.78 +vat each from Duckworth. I'm assuming we have the same rear flexi's.

Yea it is different 02-06 I’m guessing you are 06+ - joe those britpart ones are right what are they like compared to genuine? Cheers Current stable:

but they are your brakes, so you decide, but I guess even Britpart couldn't get away with making shoddy brake pipes (awaits flame war!) .

I would recommend only fitting standard LR supplied rear brake flexible hoses. I had an issue with non standard flexi-hoses that had been previously fitted and were rubbing on suspension/ hub strut. The tolerances of movement and potential for rubbing are very tight, and it was suspected that the "copy" hoses were slightly too long.

It's all very confusing are OEM parts the same as genuine parts , are aftermarket parts any good , I would think any parts would have to meet safety standards or is that not the case Neutral Thumbs Up

Genuine parts will be known and signed off by LR to have been tested by the supplier to meet the LR specifications.
OEM parts will be from the same original supplier to LR but not necessarily to the same testing standards. normally less testing because that's how they offer them at a lower price.
aftermarket will be from any supplier and tested to their own specifications which may or may not relate at all to the market/vehicle the parts are intended for or not tested at all if the are really cheap!!!

Beware the definition of OEM parts has been distorted over the last few years to mean only that the supplier is (or was !) a supplier to Land Rover - not necessarily of the parts you're interested in !
The worst example I've seen is Unipart parts identified as OEM when as far as I know they only supplied aftermarket parts to LR - never anything that went into brand new vehicle. Paul,

personally i wouldnt fit genuine. i have fitted non genuine flexible pipes to quite a few vehicles (50?) over the last 10years and none of them have failed. Cheers

Sorry to revive an old thread...

I recently took my - new to me - fatty to LR for the front brake safety recall, credit it where it was due a very slick and seamless job they did, free curtesy car an'all.

However they also noted that the rear break lines were badly corroded and advised replacement.

Has any one actually had a set of stainless braided lines made up for the rear? - Just spoke to David at Llama - he advised he'd be able to make a set up.

anything I should look out for, or any particular reason to go with genuine parts?
