Supercharger Coolant Pump Wired Backwards - DIY help

Afternoon!

I've searched the forum and the wiki and can't find a diy guide for checking and changing the wiring on the Supercharger coolant pump - I'm convinced it's backwards.

Does anybody have a guide or a link?

Thanks in advance!

Are you getting restricted performance messages and it goes into limp mode but on restart everything is ok for a while?

If yousearch for restricted performance you should find a link on how to check the pump wiring

it appears if you think the pump has been wired up incorrectly then you just swap the wires round..

Thanks!

Yes - on a couple of long trips up to Scotland at high speed after a few hrs of running I have had the REP. Driving to South of France in the summer so want to get it sorted before then!

If it's been running backwards (ours was), it's probably wise to replace it even if it's still running. Here's the one we fitted a year ago - no problems since: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BHKX9PA

I checked before buying my SC that the wiring had been rectified by Land Rover. They had not changed the pump though! It startet to act up, sometimes it ran like it should somtimes it did not start at all. When wired backwards it runs full time, this wears it out. I would really recommend this tool to change the pump, made it very easy.

So, finally getting round to this at the weekend! Got a Bosch replacement off EBay and worked out the procedure for removing and refitting! The only thing I’m not sure about is changing the polarity of the wiring? I know how to check it, but not sure what’s involved to correct it if it’s is wrong? Is it a case of cutting wires and resoldering? Been a while since I’ve done any soldering (school days), any tips/pointers much appreciated?

you can remove the pins with a small screwdriver , if you dont fancy that just cut the latch off the plug in connector and push it on the other way, if you see what I mean

Finally got round to removing the supercharger coolant pump this morning. A bit fiddly, but got there in the end. Not looking forward to putting the new one back in as that looks even more fiddly!

It looks like the wiring has already been modified - it certainly looks like it's been tampered with. The plug is also damaged. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on when I install the new pump; can I use the existing plug/connector (it does still fit and stay secure enough), which way round shall I connect it?

Also - the existing hose clips were a Censored to get off - can I reuse them?

Also, which wires are positive & negative? Is Red/White positive?
