United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

**** Update ****

So after a couple of weeks I think I'm finally getting to grips with this.

Both switch packs changed to resolve the non functioning horn.
If it helps anyone LR029644 has been superseded to LR057123. This was actually the cause of the non functioning horn.

The actual number on the part (sticker) for LR057123 is CH42-13D-767-BB1

I have obtained what I think is the original LR029644 which has the sticker code of CH42-13D-767-BA1, and all is good, with both horn buttons working.

Just for completeness the RHS switch pack is labelled CH42-13D-767-DA1

The only thing left to solve now is an intermittent "Cruise Not Available", this appears to occur when ACC is bringing the car to a halt, and is proceeded by a "Driver Intervene" message.

The manual states that this combination of messages could also be attributed to an ACC Failure, with that in mind the IID fault codes read are as follow: -

CCM-Cruise Control
U0401-67 (2Cool Invalid data received from engine control module/powertrain control module - Algorithm based failure - signal is incorrect after the event.

and

PCM-Engine
U2108-00 (2Cool Adaptive speed control

I realise that this system is at best a little "flaky" but others seem to have gotten it working properly. The only thing I can thing of at the moment is that my Radar Unit software is variant is BH32-9G768 AC, which is down-level from the latest AD version.

Any ideas welcome Very Happy

I favour the updating of the radar unit to the latest s/w version but if your PCM version is back-level further than mine then it might also need updating.

So far so good.
I obtained a software update from GAP, loaded it and set the radar to recalibrate as instructed. A short drive to allow the unit to recalibrate, and all seems good so far.

Cruise functions, adaptive cruise functions and stop & start appear to function with no errors. Al ,I get drive tomorrow will give the system a more thorough shake down.

Many thanks to GraemeS who inspiration and knowledge got me this far Very Happy

I'm still having a few niggles with this. The latest being "intermittent "Cruise Not Available", this appears to occur when ACC is bringing the car to a halt, and is proceeded by a "Driver Intervene" message".

IID only show one fault that may have bearing and its: - "U0401-67 (2Cool Invalid data received from engine control module/powertrain control module"

I'm wondering if a Powertrain ECU reflash to the latest software may solve this.

PCM-Engine TDV8 4.4L
Assembly (F113)
Current: BH42-12A650-NAC
New: BH42-12A650-NTL

Strategy (F118)
Current: BH42-12A204-NTC
New: BH42-12A204-NTD

Calibration
Current: BH42-K532-NTJ
New: BH42-K532-NTL

If anyone is out with their IID tool and could take the time to let me know what settings they have, it'd be much appreciated.

Best Regards
John

Mine from mid last year.

PCM-Engine TDV8 4.4L (Update available)
Assembly (F113) BH42-12A650-NAC -> BH42-12A650-NCK
Calibration (F124) BH42-12K532-NCH -> BH42-12K532-NCK
Hardware (F111) BH42-12B684-NA = Up-to-date Serial 1254005125031220
Strategy (F188) BH42-14C204-NTC -> BH42-14C204-NTD

I don't use ACC to bring the vehicle to a stop so I can't say if it would always work without error.

Many thanks GraemeS

Do you just cancel the cruise before ACC brings you to a stop, or have you switched it off in the CCF?

I noticed from your previous postings that you have "Speed control Adaptive speed control, stop and go" set.

Coming into urban areas I cancel CC the first time that traffic slows (usually traffic moving slowly entering a particular round-about) and don't use CC again until back into higher speed zones.

Living in and therefore driving mostly in a rural area I upgraded to ACC for use on the open road where I found it tedious to constantly adjust the set speed when behind vehicles doing more or less the speed limit, so would cancel CC then have to constantly check that I hadn't inadvertently exceeded the speed limit.

Forward Alert,

Did you ever get (Stop&Go) to work? I recently installed ACC and going thru the same growing pains.
I thought it was all dialed in. Lost Forward alert, than cruise not working.
Reprogrammed again, lost forward alert, adaptive cruise to work.
Never got my Side object detection to work.

I did the same conversion as Graeme. ACC works a treat, but I could never get the Stop & Go to work. It would work once; ring me to a stop and then start me off again. Then it would throw an error “Cruise Control Not Available” or similar. I switched this part of it off; "Adaptive Speed Control Dtop and GO" and ACC works faultlessly.

I too am interested in retrofitting ACC to my L322.
Question is why are the systems different between the 5.0 V8 petrols and the 4.4 TDV8. I have a 2011 5.0 SC autobiography
and microcat shows 2 sensors in the front bumper but only 1 for the TDV8.
will I need both sensors or can I get the system to work with just 1 like the TDV8.

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy, only one forward radar module required. Photo enclosed.

Thanks georgekale,
Obviously I still require the ECU that sits in the rear RH of the car connected to the yellow plug.
Regarding the sensor, I work in a panel shop and I have a sensor which I acquired from a job, it is identical in every way to the LR item apart from the label. This one is EB3T-9G768-AF. it came from a late Ford Ranger. Would it be just a case of re-flashing this one with the correct firmware to get it to work using an IID tool?
When I googled the number it comes up with Ford Ranger, but when I googled just the 9G768 it comes up with various makes and models, Ford, LR, Jag, Volvo, Lincoln. Are they the same item but with differing firmware?
Cheers
Andy

Only 1 radar unit is used with the 4.4 but the 5.0 uses 2 so 1 may not work. The 5.0's 2nd requires a link cable between the 2. The 4.4's logic is in the ECM but the 5.0 in the L322 has its own module as already mentioned.

My 2011 5,0 Sc L322 works with only one radar unit shown. Also ECM controls the adaptive cruise. I seen the fish Illustrations showing rear CONTROL MODULE. But mine does not have it and an the adaptive cruise works. I have the radar module for sale.
