I’m hiring a 6 cylinder A6 or 5 series (or could be anything that Sixt offer in that class) touring in Munich next week to get the Germanic estate car experience on a summer alps trip. I doubt very much that I will prefer it over the lofty Range Rover ‘command’ driving position. But I’ll pretend it’s mine for week and see how I feel.

I had a white Volvo Estate reg SN02### and had great fun driving at 70 mph inside lane on motorways, watching in rear view mirror as third lane chancers pulled back and eventually crept past.
Even got the two finger sign quite often😂
Hey ho!!
What I really wanted was a T5 but also wanted to stay alive a little longer.😇

Had a 97 V70 2.5 170 when I was mid 20s, which was an odd choice of car but I loved it. Cost a few £ to keep right, but drove well. The chassis is the limiter and the ride can be a bit jiggly, but they eat miles very well. Best of luck.

Surely you’ll need a Yummy Mummy for the passenger seat?

and having got the Midget back on the road, I don't know what to do with myself Thumbs Up

Have to say, having done a lot of motorway miles over the last few weeks. i did miss the "King of the Road" / "Don't mess with me" / "I am meant to be in the fast lane" feeling.... .
