If you plan to do more trips buy 10 trips at the Euro tunnel and they can be used by other members of the family as well can be a nice saving?

Watch for speed traps in Switzerland! Grey boxes on the right side, on some places even in the middle between the guard rails. Once you leave the motorway/Autobahn in Landquart pay extremely attention! In Graubunden they act like street mugger! Fairly big grey boxes like little trailers on the roadside, with bad luck also cops with laser guns. On the long strait road section around JENAZ do NOT over 85 Km/h 80 is the speed limit but 85 you can do, worst case you pay 20 Swiss francs. Don't forget Daytime Running Lights! Autobahn you can easily do 125, you pass the Speed traps with no problems but 125 on the speedometer not GPS!
Enjoy your days in Davos.

Thank you Andy for taking the time sir... Great advice Thumbs Up

Not quite - a frequent traveller account can have an additional nominated user - doesn't have to be family - but either the account holder or the nominee have to be present on each booking - you can't just share them with whoever you like.

You may well get away with not being present, but if checked, then the ticket becomes invalid - not sure if there are any further consequences for the account.

Sometimes I need to put my nominated credit card into the machine, sometimes I don't - but in 10 years or so, I've only ever once had a proper check where an actual person wanted to see my passport.

Thank you guys... We will be stopping over en route as we are with our 11yr old! i don't want to push on too long!

I believe we will stop somewhere halfway through France... Maybe Metz? & maybe Reims on the way home?

We always use the Campanile in Metz North -Woippy brand new spanking new/clean hotel with large rooms some with alcove bedroom for the kids. Got a secure car park thats locked at night with tons of space plus a Hotel restaurant accross the raod and Bar Breakfast area in Hotel and well as a modern lounge with two huge TV's playing sport.

PS: We also stay at the Novotel Reims Tinqueux it got a pool for the kids (not very heated) with a bar restaurant around it out the back. Very comfy rooms/beds at a decent price....

^^^

Stayed at Novotel Tinqueux many times. Clean and quiet considering the location and just five minutes drive from the old race track at Gueux, which is well worth the detour.

Currency. I travel a lot and have been paid for previous jobs in various currencies.

Online accounts exist to cater for this. The one I recommend is Revolut.

They quickly issue a debit card that’s compatible with Apple Pay and contactless. You load it with £ from your usual account and you can then convert it into over 40 currencies either by setting up individual currency accounts in a few seconds or it just converts £ automatically whenever used.

It uses the international exchange rate, or very similar, and could save you an awful lot compared to a bank or currency outlet.

It’s all done via an app and the online support is very good.

You may need to verify things with you for full functionality, but it’s well worth doing so. You can also use the card for cash withdrawals anywhere. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up for Revolut

Works well for me. I just load up the £ account before I go away and then I can exchange through the app into whatever currency is used in whatever country I am in. Exchange is more or less instant at exchange rates very close to the mid market rates you see advertised on sites such as XE.com etc. Only thing to be aware of is to try and avoid exchanging money at weekends because the as the international markets are shut you will get a lower rate as Revolut try to cover themselves in case the markets open on Monday with a steep dive due to some unexpected event over the weeekend. To be fair all exchange houses follow this practice though. 2008 TDV8

Vaseline works well but doesn’t last as long as Gummipledge.

Any silicone based lubricant spray will do the job. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Yep, I’m one that uses Monzo also. No currency exchange rate charges and instant viewing on your phone of usage.
