Rear light wiring removal

Am trying to get rid of a bit of moisture in one of my rear lights (2011) and can’t get the wiring jack off? Anyone any hints?

Also what are these extrusions? Covered by a grey cap - a vent of some sort or a buffer against the bulwark?

Thanks Craig. Needed a bloody gripper to get it out. Thought I could get the bulbs out too but it's completely sealed so I presume if a Bulb had gone, it's a whole new light unit? Shocked

I take it the breathers do not allow water escape ? I have bit of water (tea spoon)in the bottom so presume I will have to drill to get it out?

Spray the plug area with wd40 and then try and press each clip in in turn whilst prising the clip up.I find using the blade of a screwdriver works well.
Airing cupboard for a few days to evaporate the water.

Thanks guys. Got it off in the end and now drying out inside. I Take it that it's a sealed unit and no incursion can b made into the insides (to change a bulb, dry it out etc)

Yes, LED's do go wrong as proven by my SL. Both rear lights are LED and they look really crap, when some have died. I managed to buy a set of rears which were perfect and had them changed, even though my originals had enough LED's to pass an MOT. There is a minimum percentage for an MOT pass. I can't remember what the percentage was.

I sold the originals to a car dealer, as they were MOT legal, just aesthetically crap. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

Thread resurrection Thumbs Up
Rear side light has failed on near side.
On a MY2011 are they a sealed unit so can’t swap out bulbs?
