United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Java Black

As previously mentioned, you won't know you have a trailer on the back. Warning be careful, as I would often poodle along, then look at the speedo Shocked & quickly slow down.

Always liked Rally cross /Rallying, but wasn't happy about getting the Mini covered in C**p after spending months building it, That's why I went hill climbing & then this happened at Prescott Big Cry

A Trap

Yep the cars I worked for Graham were for hill climbs and sprints, Prescott, Loton Park Curborough mainly.

His cars I worked on included:

Pillbeam MP43 - had a rover 3.5 V8 at first then we fitted a Porsche 3litre in it.
Brabham Cam-Am
Brabham BT? 4 wheel drive with a rover v8
Bentley Blower
Audi S1
Metro 6R4 with rover V8 fitted
HS Chevet
Mini Cooper
Altar 1.5
MG Magnet (his first car)
1936 Delahaye Type 135

Various other single seaters and other classics, 25+ cars in total plus the Bus and a couple of classic trucks and a helicopter.

United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Aintree Green

I was lucky enough to grow up near a hamlet called Shelsley Walsh, to those in the know, a famous hill climb. On weekends when there was a meeting there would be a cavalcade of interesting transporters passing the front gate of our house, including various converted buses as well as custom built, fully liveried truck based race car transporters.

I got into photography in my early teens and used to blag a press pass and took hundreds of pictures over the years of all sorts of exotica, including most of the cars in ur20v’s post above. The combination of topography and unsilenced big V8s made for an awesome sound! My parents house was a mile away and you could hear the big Chevy V8s and the DFV cosworths from the garden. I last went there in 2005 for the centenary meeting. Sadly the cars by then were all running silencers so the visceral engine sounds were lost.

My particular favourites were the Brabhams with either DFV or Chevy V8s and really awesome can am McLaren with a 7 litre V8. Happy days.

I just don't hear of people having problems with the TDV8 particularly the 3.6....

Morning from England Dave , many thanks for taking the time to reply, I would have been happy to buy any model really, I honestly would have been happy with a petrol given past problems with Diesel engine cars and the mileages will be low so I’m not worried about economy.

I’ve asked the question - what to expect ? - , There are people who never have a problem and some that have lots.

I used to be in low maintenance fingers crossed camp with cars, but as you get older you realise you must maintain anything well to reduce the chance of failure. Which is the best policy in the long run.

I’ve picked up that she’s not a cheap mistress and will be treated accordingly!

People do really love them , I’ve met Mr Bamford at his place and I can tell you he loves them as well Very Happy

Thanks

IC

Hi guys and girls

Update on the RR ownership

The 09 RR I paid for and got an invoice for never got delivered
Due to virus I agreed to pay and wait for delivery
It never happened
There were several excuses- a long story - no short version !

It was 5900 plus about 800 in fees

So looked for another - I looked at loads and they were cheap but rough

The one I found was about right - AB with ivory leather 99k for £11500..
Exterior is really good - interior needs driver seat sorting - worn slightly

It’s first owner was a footballer apparently , then a guy from Altringham , then my man I got it from so I think it’s not been “off-road” - tyres day “grabber” 20in - let me know what pressures people run in them please.

In first 8 days I’ve done 1100 miles (My Audi back window was smashed and tools gone so was doing some Work miles )

I often have to fill up lol

I visited petrol station nearly every day !!

Since day 8 it been at garage for a tow bar and gearbox oil change

Day 14 now and it’s been washed and polished with that spray on ceramic polish , easy and quick.

The previous owner fitted a tracker - Vodafone one, 140 a year - I paid for another year and when tow bar man used his gun to install tow bar I got a text and call to say unauthorised movement detected with ignition off ... quite impressed
There’s an app for it but I can’t get it to work due to Fing passwords

GBox oil change was 390 tow bar 645 tow trust - really neat as when removed you can’t hardly tell it has one.. don’t really like the round thing on the standard ones.

Oh, I bought a front end off a mini in Buxton in June 2019 and never got round to picking it up
The guy was fine to keep it, so I used the RR to collect . Took daughter , she wanted to Call in to see grandparents / outlaws in Castleton on way - stayed in car and said hi out window - I wanted to get going (I don’t like stopping mid journey) and set off - 38mph speeding ticket on way out of village.....

Going 30 in a normal car feels like 20 in a RR.

Prev owner had it remapped and it does shift quite quickly..

Just a had Indy garage give it a health check and only issue was rear discs are a bit worn - £190 fitted if i want them doing. Everything else good.

Are the wheels standard RR ones ?

Looking forwards to towing the trailer and horse box - not sure if horse is lol

It looked a bit sad when I collected it sat next to its replacement....

Reason for sale was the L405 so fairly good reason.

Looks really nice! Hope you continue to enjoy it.

What towbar did you buy? I'm looking for one, £650 sounds like a decent price. Could you share a link please?

Here's mine.

Hi

https://jacquestowbarservices.co.uk/

They fitted it £640 all in With 7pin only as I don’t have a caravan

Towbar is a “towtrust” removable type

Only downside is this style has no deflector plate , which may be useful to some with long travel on there hitch when it extends as you unhitch sometimes.
