Really interesting thread and sorry hear you still have an issue. The saving grace is it happened before you got it back!

I have the same car as you and interested when you say "hidden screen" Apologies for side tracking but can you tell me how you access it?

I agree with the others, have been through a low voltage scenario with RR guys in a different forum and a healthy battery come charging system solves many problems.

Cheers, Jerry

It's already been said, but I would be looking at a new alternator.

They seem to be crap on the 2007 TDV8's - probably a bad batch - see this thread - so I'd do it as both preventative maintenance and to rule it out Thumbs Up

Well here we are, got the car back last night. They said they found a bad connection on the loom, fixed and they have tan it for the last 2 weeks and covered 650 miles without a problem. I drove 100 miles last night to Devon with no snags.
85/90 on the M5 and returned 28,7 mpg.
I am over the moon.
One thing, my fuel filler protector thing has sprung out and I can't find the reset tool. Is there any thing I can use to reset it, took me 10 mins to put £50 in. Got board

are you tempted to cash in now.?
or, you might prefer to gamble, winner takes all...on no limp mode for 28 days.

ALTERNATively, seems like a good idea, now, to have a small cheap digital voltmeter handy in the car, in case you are thrown into doubt...

but you would get your pound back. Razz

Guess what, done 3k miles without a hitch till this week. started with special programs off on start up (thinking low battery as car only used for short runs)
then today all the bongs, lights ect, engine fault, transmission fault, htc fault and suspension lowering and into limp mode again. did this four times in the space of 10 mins.
rang the dealer to ask him where the bad connection was they found last time, waiting for a call back from his mechanic.
