Had the tracking done. Hunter 4wheel system. Needed doing after control rod change. Set tight tolerance mode myself with Gap iiD. Wasn’t leaving it to the garage to do. John

With some trepidation I folded the rear seats flat to collect my sons new bike. I’ve seen a few “my rear seats won’t return” threads and didn’t want to be another statistic

Fuel pump replaced today. Mechanic said that it was a pig of a job. Primarily because I had brimmed it before the pump died on me!

Sorned since march, not touched it since,pressed the button today and it fired up perfectly, you cant beat a good Westie.

What is it about these westies that they seem to be quite reliable? Were they built on a different production line?

Towards the end of production, perhaps they started to get things right?

The one I have has been OK for the last 4-5 months and for that reason it's still with me, however I cannot shake the anxiety when I set off on a journey where if something goes wrong and I don't get there consequences will happen, maybe my thoughts go towards another marque because of this. Maybe I should go for another RR as I have experienced the quirks of ownership and can maybe choose another that won't bite me so much.

Who knows what's round the corner! Some of the reactions to me even looking at something else have ranged from understanding to quite aggressive for even suggesting that another vehicle exists.

Recipe for peace of mind:
Membership of breakdown service;
Find a trusted independent workshop;
Identify the common faults;
Budget for preventative maintenance plan over the next three years.
Finally, remember Range Rovers will never be cheap ! Forty years of progress. 1972-2012

Had an interim service before collection
Found an indy but I wasn't impressed as I seemed to know more about the car with information gleaned from here.
The common faults are what wound me up! The car was like that kid who caught every cough an cold known to man.

As i said once £xxxx was spent resolving these design/bad maintenance faults it has been ok but previously had left me waiting for recovery services a little to often.

I have time to review whats available to me and the L405 still appears on the list so I will see what happens.

Reactions to this thread have so far been strange.
