you flexi-pass boys are living to much in the fast lane [see what i did there]

i welcome a stop to wait for the next train..lets me stretch my suffering back and walk the dog...
its the same at toll booths, slow down and get a change in pace from the boring autoroutes.. ... - .- -.

I don’t mind the wait for the train at either end, but saying that going out I don’t usually get held up and as the terminal is only a 40 minute drive from home it’s even better when I get put on the first train. My only bugbear is the return and the queue to get through immigration. That can take ages and if you’ve just caned up the A26 to get there in good time it’s royal pain to wait for a bored Border Force agent to scan your passport. Not sure flexi passengers avoid that queue.

Big flexi plus fan here as well. Especially on the France side where passport control can be a nightmare and you zoom right past, to jump the queu and zip in. But the best part is not having to make a specific train. A break at the lounge is also much more comfortable than at the main terminal building, and you can choose when you want to go, be it the next or not. Yup wouldn't do it any other way.

It’s ok for the rich kids , I use the frequent traveller works put at £65.00 each way , The lovely Leyla costs nearly as much

Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Stan,

Apologies missed your earlier post. Yes around 25 hours driving for my journey. We are travelling on Thur/Fri to La Manga in the SE of Spain with an overnight stop over south of Bordeaux. About 800 miles on day 1 plus the tunnel, and 700 miles the next day across the Alps and around Madrid. We're avoiding Paris and Barcelona. MY23 D350 HSE

The new RR has around 1200 miles on it at the moment so this journey will double its mileage before we head back later in Aug. Should be nicely run in by the time we get back Smile MY23 D350 HSE

Biarritz is a good place for an overnight stop, with a good range of restaurants for your evening meal.
I’ve done it in the day from approx 9.00am tunnel exit.

Do you mean the Pyrenées? The Alps would be quite a detour. Might take more than 25 hours.😉

Enjoy the trip whichever way.👍 John

Thanks Mike. We’ll be exiting the tunnel an hour or so later than you have so have chosen somewhere about 100miles north of Biarritz. I want make this a reasonable journey and not be too exhausted after each leg. MY23 D350 HSE

I’m about 60 miles south of Bordeaux an 100 north of Biarritz - about a 600 mile drive from the tunnel. It’s usually a good run, but I’m usually glad to be stopping Thumbs Up

Are there still heavy roadworks on the A63 north of Bayonne, Alistair? Or haven't you been that far south on it? John

I’ve not ventured that far south yet this year John - I’m in Gastes - have ‘popped’ to Andorra a few times but that’s across and via Toulouse.

Bordeaux rocade (ring road) is usually busy and for a few miles south then clears up.
