That’s what I thought. Just not sure where else it could go..... even if you were Land Rover.... there’s not even any room to have it lower into the dash...

I have an android head unit with GPS etc unit but also sit a tablet or my phone on a thin alloy channel when I want a bigger screen. Super easy as it connects via Bluetooth. The channel is glued but can easily be removed with no sign it was ever there. I have seen a similar channel being sold as an accessory, I think they nicked my idea

I use this bracket to hold a 10" screen but only fitted for trips. My suction cap is inverted.

So, on a bit of a tangent..... do you chaps who have another unit, ie iPad or tablet for Sat Nav.... do you tether it to your phone to get the mobile data? I have a data limit on my phone contract so it wouldn’t last long. Maybe I’m missing a trick?

Purpose made slide in bracket for use with an iPad mini for the odd occasion I need a map.

That set up looks good. I’m a bit old fashioned and would still prefer to use the in car system, but it never picks the fastest route by default, and then continually tries to reroute you back to the planned route, rather than calculating again from current position. I’ve moaned about that before on here though 🤣.
