Yea it seems the 2013 models were different. I'm sure it's the more powerful unit with the twin air boxes which was used in the l494 sport. I have emailed landrover and I'm waiting for a response.

Effectively there are only 2 engines.

Various state of map.

Stans has sequential turbos
Yours has parallel turbos

Both have the same power. Afaik all pre 16 405s were 258 hp. The newer 405s have had a power hike to 275.

The 494s were offered in various states of tune from 258 through to 310 hp. I don’t think it made a difference which turbo set up it had as to whether it was badged SDV6 in the 494 that was more down to the state of tune. At some point they would have updated to the sequential set up but as with the early 405s the first ones around 12-13plates would have had the parallel turbos in both 258 Bhp tdv6 form or 309 Bhp SDv6 form. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Cheers for the reply.

Ahh OK so the early L405's had a possibility of tune with the parallel turbos of 258bhp or 306bhp. To be honest when I test drove it, it felt pretty quick for what it was I'm certain it had the higher hp set up.
My l494 sdv6 hybrid was pretty quick 354bhp and this didn't feel much slower at all.

I'm waiting to hear back from landrover what set up eg horse power set up she is.

Will be 258 hp.

There was no power hike for the 405 like there was in the 494 as the 405 had the 4.4 SDv8 engine which wasn’t an option on the 494.. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

OK fair enough makes sense it's all just a bit confusing but we are getting there.
So it must be down tunned alot so must be alot of potential for tunning Thumbs Up

Without looking up on it I guess the parallel twin turbo has twin intercoolers and the sequential twin turbo just has the one intercooler that is with the single intake air box.

Yea that sounds like something I may do once I'm on top of things once I get her.

I guess the ones with single intake just has one intercooler and the twin air intakes has two intercoolers.

Be interested if there is a power hike to be had here with the setup.

I might get new pads as mine are starting to shudder a bit also and I'm thr same, Ive got the 6 pot Brembo. Wonder if theres anything better you can do with these being bigger. all smug in my new plug!

Yea definitely agree there is some big gains here with power to be made.

Makes me think why they put the same big Brembo's on as these were the more powerful set up engines.
