New to me L322 2012 Overfinch

Hi Everyone!
I’m back again with my 2nd FFRR! Very Happy
I also had an RRSport before which I loved for a few years, but after too many £££ and engine/suspension issues I fell out of love with it and moved it on - a decision I regret as I did love that car… but when that love goes…

Im only 2 weeks in and I’m loving the new car, but there are a few things to deal with… but they were expected and I planned to resolve them myself in time anyway. But firstly it’s getting a rear strut replaced (it’s back leg bounces and car rocks on anything other than smooth tarmac) and fuel sender/connector issue resolved (as it only shows 1/4 full!!!) both by the dealer.

It’s a black inside and out Overfinch, but the more I look it appears to be a standard L322 SE which has had the kit installed. There’s no certificate (they stopped those from 2010 I believe), the interior is standard LE (but it does have the Overfinch tread plates), there’s no other Overfinch decals inside, and the spare wheel is a standard Range Rover 20” - they normally have the spare as an Overfinch don’t they?

At least the wheels are genuine Overfinch with the stamps on the inside…and bloody heavy!!! I would know, I’ve already hit a pothole I couldn’t avoid causing a flat Big Cry . No cracked alloy… just bent and damaged the tyre which needed to be replaced. I am changing just the one tyre as the other side looks very new.

She has 115k on the clock, but appears to have been taken care of and was at the right price for me.

Planned things: (in no real order)
A damned good deep clean, clay, polish etc
Tracking
Other rear strut (one will have been replaced… so best to do in pairs?)
Front struts - after 115k it would make a big improvement
Front and back bushes all round
Towbar
IIDTool
Gearbox full service and oil change - maybe multiple changes, maybe power flush… not sure yet
Possibly new gearbox solenoids… but will see how she is after the oil changes
Tyre pressure monitor retrofit
CarPlay upgrade Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

Welcome.

That sounds cracking. I’m not normally a fan of customised cars as such, but I do like the Overfinch exteriors.

Have you any pics for us all to see?

No pics (except for this one I nabbed from auto trader) just yet… the weather is a bit crappy here at the moment so will try to take some tomorrow.

I agree with you regarding the overly modified look, but was looking at the similar Autobiography look before seeing this and liking it.

Any more is too much for me… so no Khan for me please!!!

That looks good, still looks classy. Thumbs Up

I am not a fan of too much customising, saw a black RR sport Fantom whilst out today, only words I can use to describe it without swearing, are 'seriously Fugly'

2010-2012 Overfinch lost their way a little and allowed all sorts to fit their kits! Ive now seen a few done by Saxons 4x4 as a mixture of genuine bits and some eBay fake wheels thrown in for good measure!

Looks like you may have one of the external dealer built cars BUT, luckily (for you) they used genuine wheels on this occasion!

I have some genuine 22" Olympus wheels if you need any more? Just drop me a PM Thumbs Up

Thank you!
I love the colour of yours! It’s a 50/50 split for the black vs grey for me… the only downside of the black for me is how quickly it looks dirty!

I’m liking your mods too… I think I’ll be adding the pedals to my todo list along with the mud flaps… Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

Hey ffrr lover, if you phone up overfinch in Leeds and give them your registration they may still have your vehicle specs on file. I phoned them up about my overfinch, mine being a 2008 and they still had it on file. I used the online ordering service, cost £50 and Just put a note in the notes drop-down box explaining the reason I'm ordering online and had mine in the post within 3 days. So could be worth giving them a call. Lovely overfinch btw, you've got your work cut out keeping it clean with it being black.

Thanks bud, really appreciate that Very Happy … Pedals totally agree you should do! As for mud flaps, wont you struggle getting mud flaps to fit with the OVERFINCH Kit? 2010 MY Range Rover 3.6 TDV8 Vogue SE - Stornoway Grey with Semi-Aniline Ivory Leather and Piano Black Trim

I never have any thought to the side skirts causing a problem! I’m sure I’ve seen mud flaps on other FF with the Autobiography side skirts, and that would be the same?

It’s a good shout so I’ll do some investigation before committing the £££… Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

No they won’t fit the OF side skirts or the rear bumper!

I've just found out the hard way, ordered some front and rear mud flaps and they don't fit mine with the overfinch body kit on lol. Live and learn as they say.

Finally have her back from the garage!

I have my car back again!

She went back to have a faulty fuel sender unit replaced, but the part was on back order for nearly 2 weeks! Very frustrating, especially as the car has been back at the garage longer than I have had it Big Cry

She also went in for what I thought was a knackered rear strut (the rear was bouncing all over the place), but it turns out the rear sub frame bushes were shot! I don’t see how those bushes would cause the car to behave like it did… but they’ve been swapped and now that issue is gone!!!

The rear does still feel loose but I know the rear upper bushes are worn and had already planed to replace bushes all round anyway. Ill just be doing that sooner than I planned!

I am very happy to have her back. Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8
