2013 RR L405 Autobiography with Odd Issues

Hello all USA owner here, Im a long time RR owner with 3 past L322 and now a L405 for some time, we love them all.

I have not posted on this board much as we have really not had many issues at all, but I know you all have a ton of useful knowledge and I'm looking for some help with our 2013 RR L405 Autobiography.

The 1st issue we noticed and then within a week or so was .....
1st the RR would not lock right, we would try and lock it and we would get the beep, beep sound
Next the RR would not want to read the key or start up. This issue would happen on and off

So I replaced the main battery, its good I did as it still had the original main battery from 11/2013

Anyone have any thoughts on all of this ??

Thank for your help !!!

Might be worth disconnecting the battery positive and negative leads for 10 minutes (minimum) then touching the positive and negative leads together for 30 seconds and reconnect them to the battery. This will carry out a reset of the ECU's and might resolve the issue for you. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

That's a thought, could the reset casue any issues ?

When I replaced the battery, it was disconnected for more than 10 minutes, but I did not touch the positive and negative leads together for 30 seconds, so no reset was done.

You'll lose the time/date and any other personal settings you may have such as one touch windows and radios stations etc. Do you have a secondary battery in the boot/trunk? 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

We don't really have any personal items set up so no worries there.

Im not sure about the secondary battery in the boot/trunk, I will need to look. Its the top of the line 2013 Autobiography so I am thing it should have a secondary battery right ?

What the ezest way to get access to the secondary battery ?

Thanks for your input !!!

Check the voltage when the engine is running, should be around 14.5volts, Then check the battery voltage about 30 mins after switching off, then test again a day later and see how much the voltage has dropped, it could be a parasitic drain causing your problems. Pete

The 2013 doesn’t have a secondary battery as there is start-stop.

As an update, I called IE Rovers .... https://www.facebook.com/IERovers/ ..... https://www.yelp.com/biz/ie-rovers-lake-elsinore ... late yesterday, they said bring it in 1st thing in the AM and we will have a look for you.

They are very busy but fit me in right away, they cleared all of the codes and registered the battery, all looks to be fine now.

These guys are great and I highly recommend them !!!!

It looks like the new battery does need to be registered for all to work right.

Thx guys !

That’s utter BS I’m afraid sir… Only MD can look at your can system 🙄

Seams like you have a chaffing wire somewhere? Under the drivers seat is a normal place! It’s not too dissimilar to the age old airbag lamp issues… A good auto electrician could help track the issue…👍
