Sketch round left hand bends.......

Strange one, with a bit of back story. When i take a left hand bend , the back right steps out ( or wants to) and the traction control lights up. Right hand bends- all fine and dandy. When i say steps out- i mean at 30mph, it feels like the back is on ice.

List of recent work as below_

new rear discs & pads
rear lower arms- both sides. new & complete.
4 new tyres
4 wheel tracking
2 x new front air struts complete
all 4 corners calibrated to correct height using IID tool

I had a similar issue with mine where the rear left strut was busted.
However for me, it was with any uneven surfaces such as drain covers or poor road surfaces.

In addition, if I hit any speed humps the rear left would bounce more than the right.

Maybe something to check? Does the back of the car bounce more than the front? Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

did they change the upper and lower hub bushes, mine is getting a bit loose in the rear end.

when they changed the lower arms- we looked at the shocks etc, so see if they needed swapping while the car was on the ramp= and they were not weeping , and can't say I've noticed any unusual bounce- but i'll be on the look out now. Welcome Rosie J - The Newer Kid on the Block

Just another thought… check that all bolts are tight in case one was missed?
The same goes with the wheel itself… I’ve heard a few horror stories about loose bolts on wheels Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

Assuming they changed the lower, there is an upper thats wears quite easily.
Do you get any squeaking in dry weather?

plus 1 on checking the bolts

Rear suspension sensors on the top of the shock? They are all wearing out on the 2010-2012 models now and may be giving bad info back.

Not expensive and easy to change so I suggest doing them anyway to eliminate it as a possible issue.

I'm sure you've probably checked tyre pressures more than once - but I didn't see it mentioned.
Under inflated lets the tyre squirm about giving the sensation you describe.
Over inflated has reduced contact patch giving the sensation you describe.

Otherwise as previous posts, something suspension or damper related.
hope you get to the bottom of it - it doesn't inspire confident driving when the back is sliding. Anything can be made to work if you fiddle with it long enough (and have deep pockets|)

Yeah- check tyre pressure often as i'm a bit OC with them ( saves money !!) I am thinking it might be the shock as it feels like its giving way almost when turning. I'll get them to check all the nuts and bolts however as hopefully it will be an easier fix for the wallet. Welcome Rosie J - The Newer Kid on the Block
