Thanks for that Craig, I'll be wary of plod when I'm driving up and down the M5. Though passed 2 plod earlier on M5 and camera Van on bridge just before jct 12 without a tug. See if I get the STAN treatment with a letter in the post.

What's far worse IMO in the UK is the increasing number of cars (usually "supercars" Laughing ) with no front number plate. Just this week there were pictures plastered all over "soshul meedya" of a guy collecting his new GT4 from the dealers which didn't have a front plate fitted. It seems Porsche UK must have now added "number plate delete" to the options list!

its been a while since my last post here ....'bob' has been behaving properly and has had no issues except for the small dent in the off side rear which was my fault and i'm to embarrassed to say any more about it. Embarassed

one thing i have done is to replace my 21'' wheels/tyres with the bog standard 20'' ones....reason is i had the 21'' ones balanced and the fitter remarked that there was a slight buckle in one wheel, so i obtained some replacement wheels with the intention of getting rid of the buckled wheel ..

as it happens during this process i found a set of brand new 20'' style 5002 at a really cheap price....at this point i got thinking about 'looks v comfort' especially with the crap roads about everywhere and so i fitted the 20''.

what a difference in ride comfort...much better than the 21'' in respect to tram lining on motorways and the pot hole 'bang'....i thought that cornering [roundabouts etc] would be a issue but i tend to take it easy round these anyway so it doesnt make a difference [to me]

so heres a pic of mine now and a 21''/20'' comparison picture..

Looking good on 5002 wheels.
I am a big fan of them ,not just because they are so easy to keep clean, but 20” on 255 tyres definitely give a smoother ride.

I cut up an old bath towel into facecloth size squares. One to wash them, and one to polish them then bin them.

I probably should read back the way and see if this comment has been made before. Obviously illegal is illegal and I’ve no problem with that when I got fined for doing 35 in a 30 limit at first I thought where’s the harm (it was 6.30 in the morning) but that’s not for me to decide, there were plenty of 30 signs so I rationalised my fine as a fine for being stupid. No, what really gets my goat is that DVLA continue to offer plates that encourage misspacing (is that a word?) at a premium price. Geoff

Mike.

I know they are expensive, but do a search for' Wheel Woolies'. I've been using mine for over 4 years and they are great for getting into the inside of the wheels and they are just as good as the day I bought them.

@geoff, the most frustrating point is that the dvla van read my illegally spaced plate so that to send me a fine..

so if they can read these plates ,why do i have to change the spacing...

anyway , back to my 20'' wheels...i forgot to say that around town my mpg has gone up by a few miles.. ... - .- -.
