United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Epsom Green
First time L322 owner

Having always wanted a green over tan L322 - I couldn't say no when one appeared nearby with my dream spec! It was a very reasonable price and fairly well looked after.

This thread is to document all the changes I make along the way, for those who are interested!

First simple job. 'De-blinging'. Not a huge fan of the chrome stick on parts - but managed to source some original side vents and grill from Facebook marketplace very cheap.

Looks much better already!

First outing as well as a recent flurry of snow has made me realise how silly the 22inch wheels are!
I will be sourcing a replacement set of 20s asap.
Had to resort to my Isuzu!

2 days into ownership - first problem!

Battery completely dead.
Charged the battery back to full, all the electrics then worked again - until I turned the ignition and everything died.
Spent about 2 hours investigating, before releasing it was all down to a loose battery terminal!!

I will look into the battery draining issue in the future - but until then, will remain on trickle charge.

Managed to find a set of 5 L405 alloy wheels with good tyres on Facebook for £330!
What a transformation.

The dogs approve.

However after my first outing with them - I decided dogs + cream carpet interior do not mix.

Very lucky to find a matching RR dog guard on Facebook marketplace again for only £50.
The boot liner cost me £20 from eBay.

Now sufficiently dog proof!

That looks cracking mate. I’m not a fan of add on chrome bits either. Re the dog guard, it’s actually a luggage net, but will probably dissuade them from climbing over anyway. You should still be able to use it with the rear seats folded down with it behind the front seats. There should be more hooking points in the roof and a point to clip the retractable cartridge on to, which you should see when the rear seats fold.

That looks lovely.

There's something really classy about a completely original, unmodified L322. Especially in the traditional green and cream combo!

I've been through what you have in returning ours to totally original too Smile

Hopefully your battery drain turns out to be something trivial!

I love green RRs. Mine is same year and colour as yours but aspen interior. It has had a supercharged makeover by previous owner.

I do like the cherry wood and ivory combo. Was walnut on my Epsom green TD6… piano black on my 4.4TDV8…. Not wood really…..

That looks very smart. I like what you did with the bling bits, they just don't suit an L322 if you ask me. Keep up the good work and good luck with the battery drain. Current vehicles:

Neat looking car!

Well done getting rid of the bling. I really love the original look of the early models.

The only thing I would change on them is the side and tail light clusters as I'm a sucker for side markers.

Here are some suggestions of you'd Iike to go that way

And perhaps a light tint on the rear windows...

Nothing off the catalogue, really...

De-blinging seems to be a favourite on here!

I removed all the stick on chrome bits on mine - grill, sidevents, door hands, mirror covers, etc and then removed the chrome side tubes and had the wheels powder coated back to silver.

Here’s a before when it was delivered to me and a now picture Smile

Looks really nice de-blinged.

There is just something about an unmolested L322.

Update time:

As expected a few more issues have arisen.
I've been away for a few days, so decided instead of leaving the RR on trickle charge, to just disconnect the battery. Upon reconnecting the battery, starting the car, and turning the wheel lock to lock to remove the warning lights- I am greeted with the daunting message: Air susp inactive.

My driveway is on a slope and at a funny angle - so after being sat for a few days at that strange angle - the suspension seems to be fixed in that position. So the front suspension is much lower than the rear, and the front left is even lower than the right!

Have read many forum posts, watched many youtube videos and am still a bit stumped! It all worked fine prior to disconnecting the battery - so something funny is going on.

The car could do with some new rear disks and pads, as well as the handbrake adjusting. So I have just decided to book the car in with my local Land Rover specialist. Wish my wallet luck!

Here she is looking a bit lopsided!
