Yes, 8mm Allen key to hold and spanner to tighten. I literally cannot get it any tighter or I fear something will shear. Christian.

I've just changed a front bag on mine and it has sealed with only a "normal" amount of torque on the top nut...

I used an OEM bag and it has worked fine so if yours is still leaking from there it must be a faulty bag... Thumbs Up Pete

Opened a return to Aerosus now and ordered BWI bags, I cannot be dealing with this nonsense.

I also cannot get the bloody Aerosus bags off the strut now, they appear to be stuck on there. I think I;'m going to have to cut them open and then get the hammer on the underside of the swivel joint. I;ve never known anything like this.

I'm not convinced that Aerosus bags are fit for purpose.

 Christian.

That's quite a tight fit Laughing

I ordered two aerosus bags, fitted ok, one failed after a day or so, the bag pulled from the top clamp creating a massive leak, in fairness aerosus replaced it with no requirement to return it, but removing it from the strut was quite easy tbh.

Just clamped it in the vice and knocked it round the circumference gradually using a piece of wood and a pound and a half hammer and it worked itself off fine

When I removed the old ones they literally just fell off, this is another level!

I've ordered BWI bags now. Both my Aerosus ones failed unfortunately and I am not prepared to try again with another two. If it was just one that failed I might accept another but as both are leaking thats a 200% failure rate.

I cant keep taking the car apart. As it is I am now replacing the drop links too as they have been on and off so many times I think they're prematurely worn so I'm changing them. Christian.

I orderd some for my L322 long time ago but never fitted it due to horror stories so sent them back for a full refund, very poor reputation. I only actually need x1front air strut so got original been good as gold ever since. I'm sure a quick Google will provide you with info

Still cannot get the airbag off, it's well stuck on there.

Spoke to aerosus and sent them the video, the next step I may have to take is to cut the bag open and strike the underside of the swivel joint. I don't want to damage my struts as they are perfectly serviceable. Christian.

Try clamping the top swivel section in the vice and striking the top of the strut, if you've not already done so Cool

Could you use a big puller on the edges of the metal band around the air bag with the centre of it on the top of the strut?

I guess with the hammer you're loosing all the shock through the rubber bag if it's stuck at the top.

Tried everything and eventually had to cut the bags off.

Now fitted BWI bags and they are faultless. Christian.
