I am sure this has been discussed already but my insurance renewal price has trebled with Admiral, which companies do other people use? Have you seen a price increase?

Just got rid of a BMW PHEV, the second year insurance had doubled. They suggested that it was the cost of repairing cars with batteries was so prohibitive they were often writing them off if the batteries were damaged, thus the increase in premiums.

Have always used A Plan (Specialist vehicle division at Thatcham office), for the RR only one quote came back which was from Aviva @ £2.5K....... So, using the comparison sites I ended up paying around £650 for a 2020 Vogue SE. (This was £100 cheaper than the above mentioned Beemer).

Same here, was quoted over 5 grand by a couple of companies, seems some don’t want to take on RRs.
Stuck with Saga, got a good deal from them.

I tried Saga, they were a nightmare, 1 hour on the phone explaining the inside of everything and they then said they had to pass to underwriters before they could quote.! That was three days ago and not heard back, so just because I am over fifty doesn't mean to say I have weeks to waste hanging around waiting for a quote!!

To be fair NFU only doubled to a total premium of £700, but thats still 100% on last year.

Saga here - mine jumped considerably too.

Not many options for me as I spend so much time outside the UK - Saga include unlimited European use.

PHEV is definitely an issue. I have been experimenting with several price comparison sites and the hybrid is double the insurance of the diesel!

Across the LR forums, insurance has become a popular thread with especially those in the South East getting eye watering renewals. Personally I'm with Admiral and I asked if there was any discount and mine got reduced from the renewal email. So we're staying as it was untouchable. visiting from www.rrsport.co.uk
