It had snapped the aluminium casting on this one.
It happened just outside the garage and the mechanics heard the very loud bang and went out to investigate., not knowing it was one of their local customers.

Reply received from LR UK Customer Experience Centre

Dear Mr Saunders,
Thank you for your email dated 8th and 12th June 2023.
Please allow me to apologise for the concerns you have experienced and any inconvenience this may have caused.
In regards to your concern, I can confirm I have checked for any campaigns against your VIN and there is currently nothing outstanding.
I appreciate there may be a campaign in another market however, we cannot process a repair under a recall which is not available in the UK market.
As the vehicle is well outside of it's manufacturers warranty, Land Rover are unable to provide financial assistance on this occasion.
I am sorry as I understand this may not be the answer you were hoping for however should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to make me aware.

Not sure what my next move will be!

BTW does anyone have recommendations for a transport company (cover Gloucestershire) that will move my RR to the garage without making a fuss that the front wheel needs to be stabilised? The AA recovery chap was brilliant and just put a plastic skid under the affected wheel and winched it on and off with no drama, so I don't understand why the companies I have contacted so far have all had a fit of the vapours?

Where exactly are you trying to get the car from and too sir?

Range Rover steering knuckle cracked

Hello,

I had same problem with my vehicle 2015 , it has extended warranty but LR told me it’s tear and wear parts!!! Moreover, the LR replaced the left knuckle few years under manufacture warranty.

I already raised the issue to the department in charge in my county and waiting there reply and action.

I drove the car for leas than 100 k/m, but after I saw the damaged vehicles photos, I didn’t drive it to avoid accidents or injuries.

This part manufacture failure is really dangerous and may lead to death or injury while using the vehicle.

Hope LR really appreciate their clients and customers and take a serious action like Canada.

Willing safety for everyone.

Lets hope that the Vin range is greater and 2019 models are just coming into the age for failure. It makes me cringe just to think about it, I'm glad I'm not in one of the affected vehicles, your never trust it. BMW i3 Electric Car

I’m sceptical about any VIN ranges, there appear to be a few anomalies?
Also, I don’t see much evidence that newer hub assemblies have had ANY design changes?

Please correct me if I’m wrong!

I felt smug that I’d heard about this so opted for a MY2017, but now not so confident Embarassed

Huge can of worms for JLR, could even bring down the company Shocked “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

With the very loyal customer base that other manufacturers could only dream of, I doubt it would bring down the company, especially with the very unique nature of The Range Rover. JLR really should take this situation seriously before deaths are caused due to this design / manufacturing fault, I don't know how much more evidence they need to prompt them into action which they have done on other countries. BMW i3 Electric Car

I’m totally agree with you, it’s a sample situation but JLR didn’t want to understand it !!
That is unbelievable!! How could a famous cars company ignore their customers life and safety!!!

I’m scared to drive the vehicle with this major failure, I even worry about other effected vehicles who don’t know about this problem and might have a serious injuries.

I tried many times with my local dealer and the Middle East office, the answer was “ we are not committed with other regions recalls, moreover we haven’t received recalls for the effected part in your vehicle and we only can get additional discount “

I told them, the matter is not related to money as much as customers safety😞

Hope JLR wake up and makes a world wide steering knuckle recall ASAP

I saw this on Facebook and thought it would be useful here.

It's a few month's old now, though useful evidence that DVSA and Land Rover are all aware that this falls into the scope of a safety concern as defined within the DVSA code of practice.

It could be worth sharing that document with watchdog, plus a few pictures of the failures here would spur things on a bit...

The last paragraph really is worrying from an owners point of view. All of the affected cars are in a dangerous condition as can be seen from this thread and from responses in other countries by JLR. If one of the affected vehicles suffered a failure resulting in a fatality, I shudder to think of the consequences for the driver in light of this DVSA response.

This needs sorting and quickly. BMW i3 Electric Car
