@ Fisha........Just spoken to the local main dealer.....they know of the issue but not the detail. Are investigating the way forward and will get back to me.
I have been told by them just this morning that not having a current warranty or full main dealer history will make no difference as this is a safety recall.
I sense this may take some time though Shocked Shocked Shocked

I think you're right, its going to take time to get the parts into dealers / sort out the process. The same was true for the BMW and its EGR recall ... parts supply was the delay as there were so many. Quick check of mine shows no cracks at the moment. V8 or else ...

Thanks Stan

Not showing anything yet (mines a late 2014 model) - but will keep an eye.

Did note however that my last service has not been entered into the system so will chase up my Indy to get them to sort it out Smile Current

Land rover are saying its a bad batch of knuckles and if the batch number stamped on the knuckle is between G048840 and G058314 then they need to be replaced. As they have now admited the problem i think its time for all those who have had to cover the cost to replace the knuckles when they failed to dig out the paperwork and get on the phone to Landrover customer Services for a refund but also check to make sure that the new knuckles that were fitted do no fall within the bad batch number.

Whilst this is a start, I would hope the VIN range is expanded over time as we have now seen later vehicles affected (at least two 2018 vehicles https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic66376.html)

Also I'm not that convinced that a simple visual check as detailed in the bulletin will find all the cracked knuckles, also what happens if a crack is missed and then subsequently fails..

It would be far better to check using a crack detection spray - Method

Kit here or here

What’s the consensus on cause? Fatigue? Corrosion? Over-tightened from new?

Mines booked into pentlands on 5 September. Apparently it’s 2 hours to check for cracks. Also asked about parts. At the moment at least the parts are available. I think they will run out rather quickly 2016 4.4 diesel

I wonder how they will carry out the inspection?

Visual or NDT?

Maybe we should start a group buy for NDT testing kits? Whistle

Try Googling “ crack detection spray “
Welders use it to check for cracks in welds apparently.
It is dye that highlights any cracks or flaws in metal.

UPDATE...........Spoken to Main Dealer all booked in, 2 stage process apparently.....inspection first to identify if there is a problem and then a rebook appointment as a priority to get any remedial work done if it is needed.
To be fair they were very accommodating which is a good sign.
