And there I was, foolishly thinking I might escape the notorious aquatic hex that seems to be a rite of passage for every L405 owner. These engineers must possess a brilliant yet twisted genius—ensuring that owning one of these beasts isn't just about driving, but an ongoing battle against the elements, inside and out!

Richie N I would definitely check, pop the roof open and hold your breath. keeping it shut wont make any difference, other than hiding the issue.

I'll keep you all updated and might need some advice. I've been running a space heater in the back to dry out the headlining up front. Hoping to get it to my mechanic today to uncover the root cause.

Right, after a good look, my drain flanges aren’t rusted, just a bit of gunk in there. Turns out, the epic downpour we had just swamped the drains. Even my mechanic noticed other Range Rovers in their yard with the same fate. Surely expecting a car to handle heavy rain isn't too much—unless you’re dealing with JLR!

And I've discovered sunroof drainpipe cleaners are a thing. Who knew? I’m ordering one, and you might consider it too.

I don't believe that 'not opening' the sunroof will make any difference. I don't have one on my L405, but on my P38, the sunroof itself was expected to leak. This leaked water is captured by the sunroof drains and taken away.

This means that the drains do have to work properly.

I heard through the grapevine that blasting your pipes with compressed air could wreak havoc, especially if they're a bit on the rusty side. But, you be the judge!

Meanwhile, a mate from the land of burgers and muscle cars swears by chucking Clorax—pretty sure it's just bleach—down his Discovery drains every so often.

And it other news, I've just been informed that my ACE lines are quite rusted $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yes, I read that the rubber lines are not secure enough and can come off the metal drain tube. Another great design 🙄

What’s the deal with ACE line? Expensive? I had an advisory on mine recently.
