Hello, i can't find anything online about how i remove the above, does anyone have a step by step guide on removing the rear seat bases please?

Look under the front of the seat cushion, there are spring loaded clips that need to be 'rotated' while lifting the cushion, this releases the cushion.

I struggled with this, it was not as easy as it looks on my fattie, very limited space and helps a lot if your wrists are double jointed...

I find it easiest using my thumb

I did that.. I also remember it hurting somewhat, must have sensitive thumbs..

Ok, i've tried this and have located the little tabs but for the life of me can't work out if you pull them towards the front of the car, left or right or up?! They just seem locked hard in position. Has anyone got a video or some more advice on how to get these things out?! thanks

@batmanreturns it is easiest if you remove the base of the seat by entering the left hand side of the vehicle with you landing up facing the right..

Then, get your left index finger between the seat cushion and the clip , and pull towards you, ie towards the left of the car, and it will release.. It will also hurt your finger, unless of course you are a blacksmith, in which case your finger is probably too big to fit into that ridiculously small awkward space given to us by JLR engineers.. ..

Don't try from the right, its pathetically difficult trying to push the lever away from you..

I found an old tent peg bent at 90 degrees and used that, it did not hurt as much  2017 SDV8 4.4 silicon silver AB

@tinman, indeed quite brilliant, wish I had thought of that when I first fumbled around trying to figure out this little puzzle whilst loosing skin....

Wonder if my son will notice a missing peg next time he goes on scout camp...??

zenman it's the only way to get to the various bolts should you need to remove the entire seat mechanism one fine day
