United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Vogue TDV6 Corris Grey

@4RRS:

There’s a procedure in the WM for in-situ replacement of the V6 oil pump, without dropping the sump:

This is acedemic however, as it doesn’t help our V8 owner! Embarassed V6 Vogue - “Less is More” - less to go wrong!

which dose makes sense as apart from engine size the pumps look very similar and the procedure is much the same ........there has to be someone who has had the oil pump replaced or is it that the sdv8 oil pump is the most reliable part on the engine ..hmmm .i dont know just going to go on collecting the other parts for now and see what happens on here

I’d be careful Will, I’m not saying the same procedure is OK for the V8 at all Shocked

@4RRS, important to be super-clean/careful when doing the little sealant beads in the 2 bottom corners, it’s in the WM. V6 Vogue - “Less is More” - less to go wrong!

I came across this when rebuilding mine and was a little annoyed to find it was the only idler you couldn't buy separately and had to buy the idler and bracket for £200+ L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.

yea that's it, at the end of the day you just need the pully the bracket is never going to break such a rip off.......thinking about just getting it and take off the original pully and see if they are the same can always return it

It's a different diameter to all the other pulleys on the 405, maybe worth a shot using a 322 version, I just didn't have the will to mess about so swallowed the cost with a bad taste. L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.
