Suspension Error/Exhaust Valve Code but 4X4 screen different

Hello

So... an error message appear on my L322 last week and when I checked codes, they were the same as when the exhaust valve/desiccant issue occurred in my Discovery 3. Ordered the kit and was about to undertake it today. However, the bongs are more serious now and I'm getting the warning not to exceed 30mph. I realise this is part of the compressor error as time passes, but when I checked the 4X4 screen, it shows the rear offside sensor lower than rest.

The clincher is that I can't find a code on the iCarsoft scanner (LR V1.0), it simply shows the exhaust valve code?

I'm under time pressure here, as I'm driving to France in a fortnight and don't want to lose time messing with it, when I might be better sacrificing the money and going straight to an independent?

Any help appreciated.

The plot thickens...

When I removed the cover for the compressor, this cable had disconnected:

So having connected that, I seem to have lost the code and I have no warnings coming up. I drove around lifting and raising the suspension. No suspension fault message anymore but it can't lower and I ended up lopsided with the left rear at standard and the right lifted. So, I still think there's a height sensor fault there?

Have you looked at the actual height sensor under the car? I think I’ve read before that the mounting can corrode and cause them to detach.

Happy to be corrected, but that looks like the front sensor in your info screen pic that’s lower…..?

Oh good god, you’re right. I’d better sort that order asap. How did I miss that.

On going saga… desiccant kit used and everything seemed to go smoothly.

Flashing red light 4x4 screen for front offside. Getting stressed as am to drive to France in a week and no specialist I ring has open slots. One did mention compressor may be faulty and not enough pressure to lift the front. Suggested I test the sensor by lifting that side of car.

Jacking it up did nothing. So I used a large rock and drove left front wheel on to it. No response on screen but I could see both wheels on the right “jiggling” when I drove that side over it.

Still hoping sensor.

Sensor has to be your first call as it’s not reading level when the car is level. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Agree. Considering it should also be a relatively easy fix.

So , in the end, I managed to pressure an independent into helping me, and he was very helpful and quick. The end of the story is that I simply bought a new compressor instead of wasting any more time. That was fitted easily and then it became clear the sensor really was done, so that was fitted and we're all ready for our trip now with fully working suspension. I'm not sure whether I messed up installing the desiccant or the exhaust valve should have been drilled, I opted to just play it safe due to the time constraints.

My thanks to mjdronfield for pointing out my error above as that really saved me a substantial amount of time and stress.

No worries mate. You got it sorted in the end. Sometimes if you are on a bit of a time crunch, you just need to get it sorted….
