Panoramic sunroof stuck open

Hi folks

As above. Blind working fine but sunroof is stuck fully open since the wife came back yesterday. All fine until it starts raining....

Fuse is good, motor is good, reset procedure just results in some clicking. IID tool is showing B10F2-9A Sliding roof component failure, followed by B10F2-4B Sliding roof over temperature if you keep trying to close it.

Mechanism is trying but something on the track mechanism is catching / broken, it tries to move a few mm before stopping. Have read technical manual and I can't see any way to gain access to anything useful without removing headlining and possible the whole pan roof assembly.

Anyone experience simliar who can share some advice? I'm mechanically minded but really can't bring myself to remove headling or go any further. My local specialist has no appetite to start messing with it either, and I don't want to line the dealers pockets. Any recommendations for RR / pan roof experts (Staffs, UK).

Thanks you. 2014 SDV8 Autobiography

Check the WM or handbook, usually you remove the centre roof console and you can wind it shut with the appropriate tool..

Thanks for the suggestion but already tried that. There is no manual override mentioned in the technical manual and not screw / hole on the motor. 2014 SDV8 Autobiography

L405? Your signature says you have a 2007.

Its a cable driven system. A pair of cables that push and pull from both sides. If there is no debris obstructing the movement of the panel (I'm assuming you have already checked) then it may be a broken or jammed cable. If one cable is working and the other is not then the panel may twist in place and jam when trying to operate. If that is the case then you may be able to assist the non moving side by hand and try to get it closed.

Trying to operate it using hex port on the motor may not work in this case anyway. That port is for when the motor dies and you need to close it.

Search the Internet for pictures. You'll get an idea on how the overall system works. Here's one: https://www.gentlemenofsalvage.co.uk/produ...13-to-2017

Hi there - I had that issue after letting someone else drive my car... and for some reason a small piece of plastic had broken off the roof track surround and was caught in the rail in which the glass roof panel runs - worth a look!
(Not sure what they did - they assured me that they had not poked anything out of the roof aperture, but had opened the roof, so the blame was laid squarely at their feet)
W. 2017 - L405 SC - WOW! just WOW!
2014 - L405 4.4
2010 - L322 3.6 - Carried me 100,581 miles then broke big-time

There are 10 types of people in this world;
Those that understand binary,
and those that don't.

Thanks guys will go and double check, I don't think there was anythign visible in the tracks but it's all under a rubber seal so trick to see, will poke something down there and see what I can see.

Hopefully signature is fixed, last time I posted I was in a L322! 2014 SDV8 Autobiography
