Wonder if anyone could help shed some light on a current issue with my L405.

Virtually every journey it try's to regenerate the DPF to the point I'm only getting 2500 miles per oil change!

No warnings on the dash, code read with the IID tool - no faults present.

Live data shows the DPF pressure sensor at 1010 mbar at idle (Should be 10/20 mbar at idle)

DPF is clean/not blocked and new genuine LR sensor fitted.

Current soot level less than 2g.

There is a TB from Land Rover that expains the issues perfectly - LTB00617 - Software update should have overcome but not the case.

Has anyone had the same issue and resolved or any suggestions?

Have you checked the DPF pressure sensor reading with ignition on, engine off, as I think on the 2014 MY it adds barometric pressure based on altitude into the given value.

This changed to a more sensible reading without the barometric pressure on the 2016 MY, confused me a bit when comparing my 2014 L494 with my 2016 L405 and wondering why the readings were so different!

Have you done a smoke test, that would be my next port of call?

Tried with ign off and no change in value.

Smoke test carried out - did highlight a leaking throttle body gasket and intake coupling - both now replaced with genuine parts.

I've just carried out the Pressure Sensor Calibration sequence, idle has reduced slightly, voltage is 0.52v, pressure reading 1000 mbar at idle.

Pressure sensor reading is valid then if same reading with ignition off as barometric pressure at seal level is 1013.

Barometric pressure changes all the time depends on the weather. Currently we are in High pressure zone in most of UK but when cooler front comes in its Low pressure. Thats why pilots when ready to land/take off, they get the weather from the tower and adjust their altimeters accordingly. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

I fitted a genuine DP sensor in the ongoing quest to get more miles between regens. The original sensor readings were spikey and checking with a DP digital meter they were more or less where they should be but with spikes. I checked at different revs but not under load. My theory was that the spikes were giving a high DP reading and triggering regens prematurely.
The new sensor readings are a lot cleaner but it doesn't seem to have made a huge difference. I get 11miles per gram of soot and a regen every 160 to 200 miles depending on the type of journeys.
As advised above i'm trying to get into the mindset of letting it do it's own thing and not worrying about it until a light comes on.........but it's hard to resist having a wee peek
