I have a 68 plate SV, 48,000 miles, had my rear differential and transfer case flushed a few months ago and I think it’s worse. Im now convinced the wrong oil has been used as there is a specific oil to use on the edif and not the type used on the L405 open diff. I’ve purchased the correct oil from LR and will do it myself this weekend and see if there’s an improvement. I’ve read lots of issues on the ediff and although most display the same symptoms, some are slightly odd, but is still down to the incorrect grade of oil.

So I changed mine today for genuine LR specified oil and it appears to have cured it. Annoyingly, my specialist Indy supposedly changed the oil on the 19th March, 3800 miles ago. As I dropped the oil I could see it was filthy, what do you think?

Not good at all, probably the wrong oil.
I will also do mine now, what oil did you use?
Part number, 2L I guess

This is what I bought, the part numbers were from LR topix.

According to the invoice from my independent, they used the correct oil. But I don’t see how it’s got that dirty in 4 months and less than 4000 miles.

Did you get 2L out? Perhaps they didn’t fill it enough. Although you’d hope they know what they’re doing Previously owned: Range Rover L322 2007 TDv8 Vogue SE in Santorini Black

I have exactly the same problem. I've been told all sorts - fuel sloshing about in the tank, CV joints, bushes, brake disks. However I also believe it is either the diff or transfer box. I will get them both flushed and let's see if that sorts it out. 2019 Autobiography SDV8 Byron blue/black - current
