The youtube channel of PowerfulUK deals with replacing and upgrading infotainment and other modules. There are several configurable options in the car's system files. While accessing them isn't exactly easy or cheap, the most effective and widely recommended tool for Land Rover owners is the IIDTool from Gap Diagnostic. |

I've previously used a gap IID to enable/add loads of options on previous Land Rovers, I'm struggling with the current one as it already had most of the options ticked but in the past I have added:

Thanks for the feedback. Have both VXDiag VCX SE (i.c.w Pathfinder) and the 1st model IIDTool (registered to my RRS). Not sure about the support on my IIDTool. Will check this youtube channel mentioned. Will come back to this |

My 2017 FFRR has a parking heater fitted, but I can't get it enabled to use as a option on the infotainment screen using GAP iid tool. Very frustrating. |

Thanks for your feedback. I'm not sure yet which versions I'm running, but I saw that the last formal service visit was 2021 at 22K kms. Would be interesting to know if updates are done via Topix or can Pathfinder also upgrade ? |

In the IIDTool 4 menu there is a submenu ECU info, where available updates are shown. In my case updates exist for: CHCM-Chassis Control Module - Update available (ECU Flash Supported) DSM-Driver Front Seat Module - Update available (ECU Flash Supported) PAM-Parking Assist Control Module - Update available (ECU Flash Supported) PSM-Passenger Front Seat Module - Update available (ECU Flash Supported) RCM-Restraints Control Module - Update available (ECU Flash Supported) RFA-Remote Function Actuator - Update available (ECU Flash Supported) SOD-Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Update available (ECU Flash Supported) A few other updates are listed as available but flash is not supported. Maybe a discussion with Gap Diagnostic will help understand the module firmware update possibilities. |

IMHO, I would only update to try to solve a problem, if everything is working fine, never update just for the sake of it and risk creating problems you might then struggle to fix. Same applies to all electronic stuff.

I work in the IT industry and when it comes to multiple units talking to each other in adverse conditions - such as a vehicle - I drum into the team - if it ain't broke, DON'T fix it! (caveat - if it is a CCF change to enable something that wasn't there before - I'm all in!)

You are absolutely right! While the car was under warranty, several firmware updates were performed and almost each time it took a very long time and there were problems, sometimes it was held overnight to retry the update the next day... |
