Hi, the alternator has packed up on our 3.6 v8 vogue se, and I cant get into the car to open the bonnet. When I try the key it feels like the mechanism isn't connected to anything. The remotes aren't doing anything either.
Is there a way to get at the cable to release the bonnet?

If the alternator has fully gone - as in the diodes failed, then you may have to disconnect it from underneath & then put some charge into the now disconnected cable.

Success! I connected a smart charger to the starter terminal and a good ( ) Earth point, no joy it just came up error. This morning I dug out an old charger and it gave enough power to unlock the doors with the remote.
I've now got the battery on charge and will tackle the door lock when it stops raining
