This is not plug and play, the cover and the inner dash need modification...

Track down a 2005-2012 LHD left dash end with the light switch hole...

I found a wood finish one for less than £25 delivered from the States... piano black ones were a silly price...

Drop it off at your local spray shop and £20 later it's looking good...

Take off the old one, then work out and mark up a section that needs to be cut off to miss the glove box, also cut a section out of the dash, nothing essential just some plastic webbing...

Cut off pieces...

Then fit the new cup holder, I got this one on eBay as NOS, it was £100 they retail from the dealer at around £140...

Then refit the trim and buy yourself a drink...

Much better...

A lot cheaper if you can find a nice condition early cup holder but they do tend to wear out quick...

I don't see why not, just get the panel for a RHD and modify it, you can try without any modification to the car so you will find out if it works before you go "too" far.... Just buy the panel and see if it fits before spending big bucks on the cupholder itself...  Pete

Time for an update, had the Fatty serviced and checked out just before going on holiday.

All good apart from a small leak from the PS pump…

* All filters replaced with Genuine LR parts
* Oil change
* Plugs looked to be great condition so not replaced
* Wipers replaced with Bosch 808

I might be looking at adding a CarPlay screen to replace the top centre dash vent (as someone else has done)

Can’t justify ~ £600 for the UAD solution as that’s the only one that seems to work properly without blurry screens etc

Should be completely reversible

Another update,

Been pretty reliable so far so apologies for the lack of excitement!

Big service today:

* All fluids changed (Diffs, transfer case etc)
* Gearbox oil changed with filter and pan with the ZF lifeguard kit
* All rear and partial front brake pipes replaced ( along with brake fluid)
* Engine oil changed (with filters)
* All plugs changed
* Pollen Filter
* Both rear struts replaced with Bilstein ( both were shot )
* Front driver side air suspension bag replaced


identified issues:

Slight Coolant leak from supercharger
Slight misting of oil from rocker covers
Rear brakes nearing wear limit

It’s a good car so well deserved to be looks after.

I managed to source a full upper tailgate as the one there is getting really crusty on the bottom edge

Arches need a clean up and spray , but all will be done over winter

Don't forget to take the sill covers off, and the plastic jacking points and repair or treat as needed...  Pete

I think next on the immediate list are the brakes… rears a worn a bit than my liking

That's because the adaptive cruise uses only the rear brakes, use it and the rear pads wear first...! Pete
