Well the time approaches

I'm thinking of changing my 2013 for one of these.I've got an Autobiography L405 at present but SE 460's are very plentiful what will I be missing if I go for one of those. Performance isn't really an issue they all seem adequate and I'm an adequate sort of guy (unless you ask SWMBO). I've got deployable steps and towbar but I think I can get those fitted afterwards. I probably need to say it'll be next year so this question is maybe a bit premature. Geoff

Having just driven a L460, and with a mate who has actually bought one, I went for a L405 AB. More toys, 4.4. TDV8, full lux spec.

Putting a towbar and steps on will be expensive!

THe 460 has a great engine, good gearbox, excellent turning circle and looks great but left me underwhelmed. My mate has already had to install a secondary back support as seats weren't comfortable enough.

I think the last L405's were on a 71 plate, mine was registered in December 2021 and was one of the last ones but I guess there could be a few Jan 2022 plated cars. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I too went for one of the last 2021 V8 Diesels - specifically because I wanted a V8 Diesel and NO hybrid / part electrical gubbins - they are far too complicated as it is - which just wasn’t possible with the replacement model.

The last V8 4.4 Diesels are 20.5 MY, this was replaced by the 3.0 Ignium for the 2021 MY. A friend had some very good experiences with the 2.0 Ignium version in a Discovery 5 🙈 literally 3 engines in the same vehicle that’s another reason I have stayed away from anything Ignium. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I think maybe I've got all the bases covered - just need to wait for an L460 Petrol V8 Autobiography to come along (preferably with the deployables already fitted) - I'm getting to think like Stan and Bill you only live once so why die with money in the bank which the government of the day will swipe half anyway when I can enjoy the ride in the meantime (no pun intended) Geoff

One thing to be aware of with 2021 L405's - some options were unavailable due to covid supply chain issues so worth checking anything you look at has all the bits you want Thumbs Up 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

i had a L460 parked next to mine on a boat back from france a few days ago and in my personnel opinion it didnt look as good as mine...

it was kinda a 'blob' and reminded me of the ford cortina to sierra saga back in the old days...

i think you should test drive one Geoff and see what you think.... Wink ... - .- -.

I have a 2020 AB and a friend has a 460, we spent a couple of weeks together in France with both cars, I will stick with my 405 for as long as is practicably possible. It comes down to personal choice and what is available at the time you are looking. I had a removable tow bar fitted when I purchased as choice is severely limited with factory fitted cars, it was about £700, the dealer arranged it and I was invoiced by the fitter at the trade price which was a great saving on retail.
