Im going to spoon my own eye out...... !

8 days, 3 different garages. Droning noise from front wheel (believe its passsenger side) starts at 30mph and sounds like FAA FAA FAA FAA FAA almost like theres a flat spot on the tyre. Gets faster with speed.

2 of the garages said could be the tyre on the passenger front as its slightly lower tread but all checks on bearing, pads, drive shaft etc all seem perfectly good.
3rd garage said they couldnt even hear the noise. Its driving me MENTAL ! its so clear and loud.
I asked the 3rd garage to swap the passenger front with passenger rear just to rule out the tyre and now its maybe slightly worse. This tyre has a bit more tread maybe only 1mm more but the steering wheel is now edging slighty towards the left, passenger front. No vibrations, nothing at all just a god awful noise that is slowly driving me insane.

Wheel bearing needing replacement? Mine had that recently and it was a howling sound. LR says not to rotate the tyres round the car. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Wheel bearing was my first thought although i keep being told that its not that. I have read that even if the bearing is knackered it may not present the standard symptoms when rocking the wheel / turning etc.
My worry is now that how much diagnostic cost is this going to rack up when it could be the bearing, drive shaft bearing, differential etc etc. I understand that i will have to go through the process and replace each part as i go until it stops Sad

If it's not moving as you rotate the tyres you're likely looking at a bearing.

Play in the bearing that you can detect it while wobbling the wheel harks back to the old tapered roller bearings or a huge failure where play was common and you could sometimes dial it out.

Modern bearings start to fail with a light rumble or whine and it's not always constant. With other noises the harmonics can sometimes sound sureal and often an iregular whine and as you say, apparent flat spot which would indicate the bearing running surface is ovaling.

Only way to really tell is jack it up and rotate the wheel using a stethescope to listen, you'l hear it if it's on the way out, a rumble or light grinding sound.

There’s a Range Rover owner on YouTube (raymies garage) he has got several videos of him trying to find out the same noise as what you have got …..wheel bearing in the end ,I would be looking at replacing it if it was me if you have tried swapping the wheels over and is still the same. L405 2014 Loire blue Autobiography

If they are foam filled silent tyres then it could be the foam that’s come loose - yes it does happen and can also cause a vibration - don’t ask how I know - took ages to track it down. Now I will not buy tyres with foam in - I can’t tell the noise difference anyway! 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
