For a couple of years, I wire brushed the exposed folded area with the front suspension hanging to minimize any trapped debris. Eventually had random changes of height and compressor overheating.

I use the same or the equivalent from S&A and see no reason to change.
I concur, twice a year with Smith & Allan 'Momentum' C1. One drained, the other vacuumed.
Overkill as I only do 3000 ... |

Just a silly thought, is the sensor arm the correct way round?
I believe it is possible for the arm to be fitted the wrong way around resulting in the voltage being 'backwards' for a change in height ... |

After repeated error messages concerning height sensors, it turned out I had a slow leak from an air bag. I reset the heights using IID tool after changing mine.
All worked well afterwards.

Having spares on board is a great idea.
Dropping to the bump stops whilst towing a two tonne caravan is not fun.

I have found that a thorough degreasing of a CV joint followed by a new gaiter and fresh molybdenum disulfide CV grease works fine.
