Swap Chrome Tubes for Side Steps Anyone?

Not too sure if this should go in the FS/WTD (so apologies if I have it wrong), but I have a set of chrome side tubes fitted to my car at the moment. I want to get a set of side steps instead for my wee fella getting in and out (he's already complaining about slipping of them as he's used to the side steps on the P38).

If no swaps, then I'll just sell them.....anyone know what they're worth second hand?

Also, can anyone recommend a good set of side steps? Loads on eBay etc, but I'd like some recommendations from you guys.

M.

Probably best with OEM ones , as there have been a couple of folk who have bought OEM style ones and the fittings are out by a few mm and don't line up correctly Thumbs Up

Would you not need to change the front mudflaps also ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I've got a set of OEM ones that are sat in the garage. They have the mud flaps but don't have any bolts (had to cut them off to get the steps off). They have a couple of small dings on the underside but these aren't noticeable when they are on the car. You're welcome to them for £100 although posting them might be a nightmare as they are big and heavy.

Re the flaps, the OEM ones come with the front flaps, but the side tubes don't (AFAIK) so if you have OEM ones and swap for tubes, you will also need new front mudflaps. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I've been toying with the idea of chrome side bars instead of the steps that I have. We never use the steps as I'm 6ft2in & SWMBO is 5ft11in so getting into the car is not a problem.
My car is fitted with the standard mud flaps too but I'd hapily take them off.
I'm in east Ayrhsire if you'd like to take a look sometime.

Thanks guys.....I hadn't thought about the mudflaps. I should have remembered as I fitted them when I fitted the steps to the P38.

I have front mudflaps onmy car now..... so do I just swap these at the same time, as I'm assuming they are different?

I would imagine you'd swap them with the tubes for the ones for the steps.

Otherwise the person having the tubes would be left without mudflaps and holes in the front arch liner thing.

Front mudflaps new OEM are about £55 all in I think, just for info. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

The OEM ones bolt into the same place regardless of the recess for the steps or not. As I said I have OEM sidesteps and mud flaps sat in the garage if you're interested. All you'll need is some bolts from the hardware store (about 6-8 bolts for the steps, you can recycle your mud flaps bolts) and you'll be set.

I'd like to jump on this topic too! I also have chrome tubes and would like to swap them for OEM steps or similar, as my dear old granny cannot get it without me having to help her up. Steps would be more convenient although I do prefer the tubes.

I could meet somebody if within reasonable distance to do a swap over. I dont think it would take 2 of us long at all.

It's proving difficult....I PM'd the guys who replied but haven't been able to sort anything out yet.....not sure if they changed their minds.... Confused

There's no doubt the steps make life easier for the auld yins Wink the grip tape idea might be a good short term solution though.....
