Bike Rack for ball type tow hitch

Hi gang.

My FF was fitted by the land Rover dealership with a removable ball type tow hook from GBW, from Germany:

http://www.rameder.lu/en/Towbars/Tow-bar-103190-04869-1.html

This means I do not have the square "US type" receiver, therefore I may not use LR's OEM bike rack.

Do you know of an alternative (and can offer feedback - or better sell one), supporting 2 adults bikes, ideally with a swing away frame such as the OEM post 2009 accessory bike rack?

AS DISCUSSED HERE

The only aftermarket rack I could find that allows access to the back is from a russian site :

You should be able to find a replacement "normal" towbar fitting on eBay, then you can use whatever you want for a bike rack. The square end is a standard size. Search for motorhomes or similar. .

I am familiar with the 2 inch US type type, but on mine, the ball hitch receiver is built in the bolt on frame, so I can not simply replace it as suggested.

I am now thinking of getting one of the ones that simply clamps to the ball* and call it a day, as there are no clamp-on dedicated for the FF.

Cheers

There are loads that will clamp onto a swan neck tow ball - Thule & plenty of others.

If you want to tow at the same time, then try a Maxx Raxx

No it isn't Razz

"US Type" is probably the best description as it's actually 50mm square.

I have a Jeep with a 2" square receiver and several inserts, all of which are slightly too big for the FFRR.

2" = 52mm Big Cry

The above is the westfalia bike rack which will clamp onto your ball. Have a look on amazon or ebay as well as i have seen it for a lot less. They do it in various carrying capacites. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

This is what I need:

Westfalia Portilo BC60

Anyone ever used it on the FF?

Not tried that one - one of my mates has a very similar Thule one - very heavy once the bikes are on it - dropping & raising is not a one person job.....

Holds 4 bikes really well though - I was seriously impressed as it just grips the ball

verydisco.
GDW are a Belgian company who also have 2 sites in France. They also 'do' bike carriers -
http://www.gdwtowbars.com/index.php?/fietsendragers
look at the - Click&Go: "La crème de la crème"
I had to contact them [not for bike carriers] and they were extremely helpful
Perhaps they have something round that replaces the swan neck.
Maybe it is worth contacting them?.

Hmmm, mine was a bit tight (I bought one for an "RV" as opposed to a "motorhome" from a UK eBayer) (currently measures as 50mm though), but I just sanded down the powder coating a bit to make it fit Smile I'd call it a 2" Wink .
