Thanks so much Mick - never would have worked that out without a prod in the right direction.

Please can anyone tell me if I should be worried/the cause of this oil leak around the right hand side (as you look at it from the front) of the engine.

Looks like the rocker cover gasket might need/already have been replacing/replaced, OR someone wasn't so careful when filling it with oil Whistle Land Rover Addict

United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Buckingham Blue

About half way up the photo, you can see a little square cover. Pull this off and you get to a couple of bolts. Remove them and that whole cover comes off. (You need to take the main plastic cover off first though).

Under the RH cover, you will find the four plugs with their coil packs on top. See if there is any oil around the bottom of the plugs. If you are feeling adventurous, have a look under the other one too.

Oil around here only means the rocker gaskets need done... Not a big job, add it to the list though. Also look at the PCV hoses at the back.
