The FBH fuel pump is located in an "inaccessible" region of the rear sub-frame on the right hand side, above the upper suspension in line with the drive shaft.

See here:

This is with the subframe dropped, you can't really see it from this angle when subframe up tight.

Am guessing it will only tick if conditions to run the FBH are right .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Activate at 5degC automatically?.
Mine activates when it's indicating 8degC or less [MY2006].
Do not have the options via MOST.

I think the TD6 and TDV8's may have different activation temps. My TD6 always activated when the temp was 8c or less but my TDV8 FBH does not seem to activate untill the temps drop to around 5c.

hi guys

just thought i would bring you up to date regarding my FBH not working.

living in the dordogne, we have sometimes to wait for the temp to come down at this time of year; but yesterday when i got up in the morning it was 5 degrees according to the temp sensor in the RR. so i set the heater to come on in 5 mins. and watched with baited breath. BUMHOLES Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored i said to myself when the start time came and went by without so much of a tick from the fuel pump.

this morning i awoke and at 10am the sensor was still showing 4.5 degrees. so i again set the heater to come on at 10.15; and locked the car up and went back indoors. i forgot all about it and stuck my head out the door at 10;30, and yes you have guessed it, Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter it was whining away and the pump ticking away so thank Censored for that.

so all my worries that it had suddenly packed up have all gone away, and obviously it will not come on unless the temp is actually BELOW 5c. it must be very precise with not working at 5c but working at .5 of a degree lower.

so im a happy bunny so thank you all for your help and advice that you have given regarding my earlier post.

thanks guys.

kind regards

bob

As a newbie to these things ..... Does the FBh use much battery power ? Don't want to use it if I then find it's drained the battery for engine start up
