Do I dilute the coolant (PDA500300)

Hoping to get the new radiator installed this weekend and my old man collected the LR coolant for me today from the stealer and he muttered something about being told that it needed diluted to 50/50 - anyone tell me if this is correct? Thanks

I topped up the coolant in my TDV8 this week and the LR supplied coolant did indeed need to be diluted 50:50 with water....but I'd still check with the dealer who supplied.... 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

you can buy a kit for £1.50 (halfords or any motor supplies shop) to test the Specific Gravity (SG) of your mix adn add accordingly.

If it does need to be diluted don't use tap water.

Use distilled water.

50/50 mix yes.

Main dealer that supplied coolant for ours said that 'tap water' is fine. I boiled a kettle of tap water, let it cool and mixed it with the coolant (they said cool boiled water was not necessary but I did it anyway).

Thanks for all the replies- just wasnt sure if the old man had got it right. Hopefully by the end of the weekend will have got the job done plus an engine oil/filter change and will give the gearbox oil a change as well. Luckily got a neighbour with a large heated garage with a ramp and every tool under the sun.......

It's important to get the mix right else you will get constant "low coolant" message's on the display (which is very annoying) Thumbs Up

quick tip for the distilled water: if you have one of those condensing tumble dryers, the water container in this gives FREE distilled water ! Have used this for years and no issues.
