Have a search as there is good info on it. There is a gearbox software update which can be done which helps, so will a gearbox oil and filter change.

It is not the common EDS4 fault but could be. I suggest to get the fault codes read and see if there is anything like the ones mentioned in below post.

As I am heading to france and doing around 1500 miles with tintent I am having the box freshly oiled....also been recommended the Lucas gearbox additive ? Anyone heard its any good....

Suggest to just stay with the lifeguard 6 fluid and no additives whatsoever. New fluid and filter always a good idea when the box gets to its mileage limit on fluid change 100k miles. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Driving style can affect changes too. I drive my sc like a mentalist, but when the missus drives it you can feel the gearbox clonk when it's trying to be civilised. |
