How many people actually look down there let alone knew this existed as you have to climb on the engine or use a mirror.

I do as well, because it's surprising how much more dirty oil you can get out with a syringe and a tube. That's how I spotted my 'spring valve' was loose.

Just checked mine and it looked OK but was slightly off centre. Could be that with age the rubber cap hardens and doesn't seal fully. Also oil filters differ in their design with some having flat bottoms and others having a raised flange so these may press on the spring differently?

Hi all,
Just had checked my car. Oil filter is good, oild pressure is 1.5bar at hot idle.
Scavanger pump is new. Still exhaust is full of oil and smokes when hit on gas.
I dont believe in oil drain mod as from factoey it didnt smoke.
Any more ideas?

Twin drain was factory-fitted to the L405 4.4 from around mid 2014.

Just remove the black cap from the extraction tube and push on the syphon tube.
