Oil has to cool from 90-ish degrees down to between 45-50

In the workshop, on a ramp, its around 4 hours to cool down sufficiently, reading the live temperatures via Autologic, and it warms up again pretty quick Laughing

Ok, that makes sense Thumbs Up

Mine took a good hour to get up past 50 degrees but it was rather cold here yesterday evening... Rolling Eyes

I had a drain, fill, new filter and sump yesterday as it happens as a hopefully proactive and preventative measure on my 5.0 S/C, while my truck was in with Brownchurch for it's MOT!

It has only done 72k miles, but I thought the ZF recommendation was 75k which I will pass in the next few months. Thankfully the MOT was all clear with no advisories, so still a relatively cheap visit to the garage Smile.

I did mine a month or so back, pretty easy, got a pan off AUTODOC (something like £65 for a ZF one) and £19/l for gen ZF oil from my tyres.co.uk so cheaper DIY with gen stuff works out at about £190👍🏻 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

How much oil gets changed when the pan is dropped? I recently only collected 3L by draining the pan but intend replacing the pan c/w filter next time.

Afraid I was lazy with this one as the car was at the garage anyway!

ZF Lifeguard oil/filter/metal sump were ~£300. Oil price was the same as northernmonkeyjones, but I definitely paid more for the sump/filter.

Labour ~£250.

I've searched all the threads and expect to drop 5 litres removing the pan.

As full flushing is difficult/specialist, I've bought 10 litres and plan to do two oil changes with a good run in between. New pan on the first change.

. Cheers, Greg

Expect about 5 litres, plan to get 6/7 so you have enough to put back in. I think where folks hanvent had that much out the thermostat must have been shut. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Your only draining the sump, not the pipework too Thumbs Up

And expect somewhere around 4 litres to drain out

How does the Megaflush bypass the thermo valve? I assume with some clever bit of plumbing used for the process? 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I think my local specialist charges £260 all in for a mega flush - is that a good price?
