Thanks rar110,

I have checked the hoses you mentioned and had the plenum out to check the straight ones at the back of the intake.

I made a smoke tester and used this to confirm I dont have any boost/vaccum leaks.

Would driving 20 miles or so at 40 mph with the split hose damage the turbo?

It seems I am fast exhausting everyones suggestions.

May be take off the bottom turbo/intercooler hose/s and see if there are signs of excess oil. There will be some oil particularly in driver side (assuming UK RHD car) as that’s the side where the crank case vent feeds into the turbo. But excess oil indicates seal failure. ______________________________

Ive had those off already and no excess oil. Shame I didnt know about the oil created by the crankcase breather as this would have saved me fitting a new turbo thinking it was failing.

Just want to get back to enjoying the RR.

The only other thing I can think to suggest is induction cleaner. I’ve used Revive but there are others.

Not relevant to your problem but I think an engine oil flush may help ensure oil feed pipes are clear. ______________________________

The thing is, your error code is for bank A. The n/s turbo is the other side so has nothing to do with it. The problem is either the drivers side turbo, the variable vane linkage or motor on that turbo, a split or leaking hose or inlet manifold feeding that side, the MAP sensor which you have replaced, or a poor/ intermittent connection between the MAP sensor and the loom. Are you still getting the same error code(s)? Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8

If your turbo was damaged,by possibly over speeding due to the split hose, you’d be able to hear it whistling.

Also, you’d be consuming oil.

When you said you’d checked the turbo actuator, how did you do this?

I’ve suffered a passenger side seized actuator and it was a giant pain in the ass to free up.

Get someone to put the ignition on whilst you view the actuator. It should cycle through its full travel with ignition on.

Stay with us mate, don’t give up

I’ve just replaced the mini magnet in the steering lock so I definitely feel your pain 😀 2007 3.6 TDV8

I also ran several tankfuls through with Miller Eco Power Diesel Max to help remove any carbon build up on the turbo. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8

Hi,

I should have been more clear,

There are no error codes and havent been any since the n/s hose split back in November.

As far as the computers are concerned all is well.

I was able to use a endoscope camera to view the actuator moving on the n/s and today I managed to get my hand in through the arch (wheel off) in order to check the actuator.. very free with pretty much no resistance.

I just dont get it

Have you checked the actuator on the other side turbo?

OP stayed O/S turbo was replaced.
Is it at all possible that this is a drive train issue.
The fact it revs and idles nicely out of drive but mis behaves in drive would point to a trans issue
Torque converter!! That would also explain poor acceleration below 2000 / 2500 rpm. The issue at 3000 rpm where it needs pushing through is slightly baffling.
RRPhill might the one to ask if these symptoms are relevent.
I had a poor acceleration issue and cured it by resetting the trans adaptations but if the torque converter is the issue you have then it needs changing. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Hmm, I had forgotten that the turbo was replaced.

Have you tried using sand mode to see if throttle response is any different? You might want to monitor the throttle position sensor to see if its rate of change is smooth or not.

Grofus,

I had thought about the gearbox but Ive had no issues with it prior to the boost hose splitting and these symptoms im experiencing haven't worsened in the last 4 months.

One has to press quite far into the throttle to get the car moving when in grass, gravel snow etc.

Ill have a look at the throttle position sensor on SDD later.

One other thing I noted is when rolling at 30mph if I shift into neutral and try to rev the engine it is terribly laboured and unwilling to rev? Revs fine and freely if sitting stationary in neutral or park.

I dont know if that would be considered normal or not?

Did you check both turbo actuators cycle when the ignition is switched on? 2007 3.6 TDV8

Out of bi curiosity, does it drive the same if you change gears manually?

Still lethargic if using “command shift”? 2007 3.6 TDV8
