Pretty sure if you are facing the front of the car you need to turn the nut on the viscous fan in an anticlockwise direction, having the right tool so you can hold the pulley helps alot.

A viscous fan always unscrews in the direction of rotation.

Found and now very scared....

but on a good note, we have the fan off bloody thing... got all the front mounted cooling items off... only one knackered bolt which was drilled out. (will remove stud later on when easier to get to)

now onto a side question. what is the best way to blank off a gas conversion that we have never used and doesnt seem to be commissioned?

Matt

LPG - I would disconnect the wires from the tank solenoid then crack open a joint on the liquid pipe to release any pressure (obviously not in the boot of the the car, not in a confined area or close to an ignition source). Once the pressure has vented you're sorted.
If the line is full it may vent for ages, 1L of liquid creates something like 200L of gas

well the system is empty.

i just cracked the connector under the bonnett,

i have no idea where the tank is hidden on this thing? i can see one any where.

but there is a tank in the boot under the spare wheel which the spare also connects into?

but its not connected to the gas system that i can see.

it has either been on for ages or was a poor install in the first place as lots is loose and pipe crimp clamps are loose.

its now the onto the removal of wiring, then i get to figure out how to blank everything off and the water system re-route as well.

slow and steady, luckily its at work so i can potter on it through the day (when it stops raining that is)

Matt

Just a little update,

apart from what is attached the the gas injuectors, the whole front end water system is out, the gas parts are out....

next is to trace where this damn gas pipe goes to and then remove it along with the wire that runs along side,

who ever did this install it was not very good, so much of it was loose or connected in an odd way its a little bit worrying.

i think from the weight saved and the system getting blanked off thats got to be at least another 5hp lol.

since we bought the car it was never connected.

i wouldnt be suprised if some one was doing a home install on it then gave up.

there was so many fittings loose or not done properly, the wiring was done in a poor way.

but what items would you be looking for? If In Doubt Give It A Clout
