Dynax wax sprayed inside both sills via holes underneath. You can see it dripping out of the lower joint where there are small holes in the seam joints. Taped the vertical holes where the covers clips into with masking tape to avoid spray out! 1 tin did both sides.

Next, brush clear waxoyl on both ends of each sills and along bottom and inside edges, replace foam blocks, plastic covers and fit arch lip protectors. Will try the Freelander 2 ones and compare to the others I fitted like NFDI and Fox889. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

All done. I prefer the Freelander 2 trims cut to fit. They cover the lip a fraction more and also look more OEM. I couldn't get them to "join" the trailing edge ones due to the lip issue. I've smeared the small 2" area of exposed lip with clear waxoyl.

The new underside clips (ANR2224) were a Censored swine to get in. Split them into 2 obviously to start with then tap in with a small hammer and wide drift but be careful not to hit too hard and break them! Whistle Big Cry
I'd be tempted to try the one Weegie mentioned above

8 x 22mm I think the original ANR2224 spec are: https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/anr2224-...2758-p.asp 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I managed to treat both sides over the weekend. Thankfully not much rust, only some light surface patches. I treated with Kurust and then followed Matt's video with Hammerite and Waxoyl.

I had ordered some Dynax for the sill cavities but annoyingly it hadn't arrived in time and I wanted to get the job done before the rain this week. It's arrived today so will save that for another day!

I've also ordered a second set of the Freelander rubbers as I'm going to replace the original parts on the leading edge of the arch. The fit looks good and the originals look tired. I'm hoping this will also allow me to match up in the middle more cleanly.

I did have an interesting time with one of the wheel nuts though!

Forgot to mention this earlier, but, when I cleaned my sills last week with the plastic trim off, I saw evidence of some sort of wax dribbling out of one of the grommets [same as in one of Dr Robs photo's] can one assume then that JLR treated the inner sills with waxoyl or similar from new?

Isn't it funny how one thing leads to another......

Hi All!

Went out to put some replacement clips in a set of mud guards I fitted the other day. Then I remembered this thread, and that I'd already painted and wax injected the sills at the rear wheel arches. Soooo..... I stipped off the plastics to reveal watermarked but factory fresh sills.

So I cleaned them up,

And gave them a totally unnecessary coat of smoothrite.

Then wax injected them thoroughly.

The rest of the car was solid as a rock underneath with the tinyest bit of surface rust here and there:

So it got a clean and a full underseal anyway.

Under the engine bay and all through the transmission: Not an oil leak in sight!!!

So the only question now, is.....

No style bars:

Or style bars?

Oh, and I painted the Exhaust while I was at it.

All done before yesterday's rain came in....... Phew!

Its worth doing if you plan to keep hold of your car, -Looks like I've got a great one!

Si.
