VSR from too rich because the dry LPG gives no lube to the valves, the more there is the more the problem, and as you say a week mixture will mean hotter EGT and take out the poor little valve seats... they get it all ways..!!

If they run lean they tend to run lumpy and you know something is up, if they run rich they usually feel ok so the inexperienced will leave it because they think it runs OK, I worked for a company some years ago designing installations and the most common thing they did when servicing and repairing other peoples installs was tune them properly because they were running rich...!

Thumbs Up Pete

May I suggest that you repair the leak properly and not use an additive that will attack all the rubber in the system and make it swell, hopefully stemming the leak for now but rotting the whole system in the long run...!!! Thumbs Up Pete

How are you getting on? I meant to say to you do you have an iid tool to reset the engine adaptions? That would make a big difference - I reset mine it runs okish for about 20 miles then I guess once it’s learned it’s silky smooth Current stable:

Ace pipes? It will make a big difference the adaption especially if it ran crap on gas and then you had the valves done - definitely recommend it and getting an iid tool - if you look on here you can often pick up a classic for £120 or less the you just pay £25 ownership transfer and it can do all the adaptions etc Current stable:

Classic works fine for adaptions and 90% of other things including updates - only thing is it’s all on the cluster (certainly on the l322) or a wired laptop - is double check the are good with l320 Current stable:

ill see if i can find one of em, am proper tempted to full the trigger on one. i do have a question when you reset adaptations do the long term fuel trims go back to zero or do they just stay what they are till they start updating again?

because if i use the battery disconnect method the light goes off for about 30-40 miles and my mpg is rising, then the light comes back on, and my mpg suffers. am guessing at that point its learned the engine

They reset to 0 - what are your trims like then? Can you see ? That is one thing the classic can’t show fuel trims - only bt I believe Current stable:

the issue is there different in different parts of the rev range. at idle they are 5% ish lean, but at 1.5k rpm they are like 20% lean. thats long term anyways. other parts of the rev range they are fine, at around 3k they are very lean as well. if i keep the car constantly revving at 3k rpm it'll throw a reduced engine mode but won't actually throw any codes.
