My headlights are the same, bi-xenon… you don’t touch them. This is the other little light that’s in the headlight unit… it’s halogen and used with full beam xenons and when you flash the lights. Xenons no good for flashing as take about 3 Seconds to warm up……

They are H7…..

Thanks, how do the new bulbs suit the xenons colour wise ?

Also re Bixenon i thought they used a shutter rather than a second bulb - so the halogen could only be to bridge the gap between initial on and 3 seconds later ..

the xenons do indeed use a shutter to flick from dip to main...the H7 bulbs are for flashing and giving extra light when on main beam.

H7 bulbs come in different temperatures giving different 'colours' as do the xenon bulbs ..
the standard OE bulbs are 4300k which gives a yellow light..

if you want a whiter light then replace both with 6000k type bulbs.. ... - .- -.

Thanks, 4300 is the colour temp of sunlight i think - or near to it. The headlights are the best i have had on any car I think.

Bloody amazing on the welsh roads in the dark.

As Stan says, the halogen lights are like the spot lights you’d have fitted in years gone by. To be fair, colour wise, I can’t believe how close my new bulbs are to the xenons.

Get a pair bought, less than £20 and you get the instant on that LEDs provide and more light. Ideal for dark Welsh lanes.

I thought about doing the fog lights, as they are yellow, but given you drive with those on with cars in front of you, and I’m not sure brighter light is what’s needed in fog, I’m going to leave them as they are.

I’ve found some amber LED side indicator bulbs that I’m going to try. Don’t know why they didn’t fit them from factory…

Yep have bought some, i fitted an LED interior bulb set and i love the difference.

Aren't H7's 55W? Those appear to be 80W does that present any problems? Drives:

With LEDs they normally post wattage equivalent.

Most of my home LED bulbs are 5-10 w with an equivalent of 60-100w incandescent

So it’ll be less wattage than 55w with more light output that incandescent.

Yes, they take up much less power than normal/old style bulbs, hence why you need to try and get Canbus error free ones, or the car thinks the bulb is blown and throws up bulb failure messages as so little power is being consumed.

Good point, my brain obviously failed there, think how powerful 80W LED's would be!

I put some 10k lumens ones I found in the garage. No error and very very bright!
