I'm not sure Jez, I thought it had always been a fuel burning heater?

Do you think the salesman is telling him he can start the car from the app, which would therefore create the temperature in the car to how he left it, but he won't be able necessarily control the temperature settings?

Yes, I think that’s how it works. The app allows you to start the cars’s engine remotely and it will heat/cool to whatever was set. The option is the FBH.
Using the car’s engine to pre heat the cabin has disadvantages in terms of fuel efficiency, engine wear, emissions and people saying to you “do you know you’ve left your car running? This might also generate unwanted attention from some of the environmentalists.

Indeed this option is a FBH.

It’s illegal to have the engine running on a road without being occupied and there was a case of a police fine on another forum. It’s fine for the FBH.

That’s a good thing and doubtlessly to stop people referring to the flagship model as the “Vogue” when it is just a trim level and not a model name. Well done JLR.

Sorry, can't agree with that. It is both.

The Range Rover has 4 models, Evoque, Velar, Sport and FF. The model name and trim for FF is Vogue,SE or Autobiography and SV.

What do you call it, if not a Vogue? If you call it a Range Rover it could be any one of 4 All LR cars from 1984

One thing I find strange is the fact the V8 SV is less powerful than the outgoing SVA Dynamic which makes me think there will be a more powerful V8 coming soon, probably fitted with the N63 engine used in the M powered cars good for nearly 600 HP.
I just bought a new SVR in May so will wait what comes out next, the next gen SVR will probably be quite nice too.
Can’t wait to see it in the flesh on 4th November.

Although it’s less powerful than the outgoing SVA the performance is better. But, for sure, there will be more powerful versions of the V8 in the pipeline. LR never gives us all it has got in one go. They will keep adding and changing every year or two to keep the interest up.

What is odd is that there is no difference between SV and Autobiography other than some better leather and a few bits of trim. Difficult to justify a large premium for this alone.

That’s not correct.

In the same was as the Discovery family has both Discovery and Discovery Sport, the flagship model is simply the family name.

Always found referring to the actual model as a “Vogue” very annoying.

I agree with those who don’t like it being called a Vogue, as that’s the base trim level not the model name, t’s simply the Range Rover. Or maybe THE Range Rover Very Happy

If I’m asked what car I have, then I simply say a Range Rover. If that person assumes it’s an Ewok, Velour or Spurt…..I really don’t care.

As for the FBH, surprised it’s an option now on the AB as the rest of the spec has been improved. In the literature it says that’s it’s controlled through the app which is better than the separate remote, which feels very old fashioned. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Honestly no one knows what a “vogue”

Vogue is an international publication but more to the point here, a registered trademark JLR can not use in the USA.

It was pure design laziness on the l460 to tack on a screen like that as an afterthought.

I would argue it is simply to future-proof the dashboard design when they come up with a larger screen, as it would not require any mods to the actual dashboard, just bolt on a larger screen.
Also, it is, I assume, to try to mimic the Tesla Model S and Y minimalistic design. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

It clearly isn’t “laziness”, that much is certain.

Agreed. The V8 Autobiography is probably the one to buy. No need to go SV.
P.S: Note to moderator: Perhaps we could have a dedicated L460 section now that the new model has been launched?

For what it’s worth, whenever I’m asked (do you mean Sport, Velar etc) , I say “no it’s just a standard Range Rover” 2016 SDV8 AB

I understand where you are coming from.
There’s only one “proper” Range Rover.
While this argument could legitimately be aimed at the previous gen Sport, the L494 and L405 share the same chassis.

Didn't the Vogue spec used to be the top of the FF range?

S - Basic spec which I think the police used on motorways
SE
HSE
Vogue

and then later the Vogue SE and Autobiography entered. 2016MY TDV6 Autobiography

Autobiography used to be around from around 2005 I believe…initially as a derivative which was highly personalised via SV.
