United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Bonatti Grey

And we have a years mot on the card. Just gotta do the brake lines as they was an advisory but I can live with that. Added a few little touches recently like led puddle lights, led interior lights well some of them. I've ordered the led kit from powerful as I'd rather decent fitting leds and not the quick replacement job ones. Just need too figure out why the main map light ain't sitting properly.

Still first thing I done with the range was go and pick up a friends car that's just had major heart surgery and take it down too the sea front for him. I've forgotten how comfy these motors are when your towing a trailer.

And here's a reason why you should always check the trailer so I'd say that's due a new set of tyres....

Anyways now I can relax a bit more and get the range sorted at my own pace. End of the month I'm going to order the inner wheel arches and get it already for having the sills and arches done.

Well haven't been on here for a while as I've been pretty busy working ridiculous hours to just try and get by. Range has been earning its keep with me.

Didn't tow this very far as it was just way to unstable on the trailer.

Anyways no real massive updates with the range rover but I've had the windows tinted which sets it off quite nicely. Just need too fit the tinted rear brake light next. Biggest expense was getting a blackvue dashcam set up fitted into the car.

Done an oil change few days ago on the car and guess what this pratt decides to do with the oil. Look below and you shall see

I do believe the idiot of the day award goes too me on this one.

Anyways haven't changed the spark plugs or the oil filter as I'm hoping next few months I'll get some upgrades done on the range which include the upgraded supercharger snout, caldoofy air intake and remapping.

Cheers all

Allen

Good to see your car is behaving, Bean Smile

I've seen a lot of people talk about the Caldoofy intakes on Facebook but when people have fitted similar things to the XFR's there's actually been a power decrease.

There's been a few video's with before and after dyno runs done and the plastic one from Jaguar is more efficient so I'd not throw money at one of those tbh.

Cheers David

Decent all round car that's for sure. As I say too a lot of friends as long as you can ignore the fuel bill then they are pretty decent cars to be honest. Fairly straight forward too work on as well if I'm honest.

That's interesting too know, maybe I'll keep the stock air intake for it but I'll be getting it on the dyno run before and after I've had the supercharger snout done and the remap so I can see what gains have been done

Whilst I was doing my top end rebuild I rebuilt the Supercharger with new bearings in the case, new bearings in the snout, and I went for a 6% pulley too.

My snout needed a fair trimming to fit the 6% pulley so I sent it back to Powerhouse to be done. Haven't driven it yet but it certainly sounds nice and quiet now.

If I'm honest I'm inbetween two minds on what too do with the supercharger as I really wanna go for the 10lb one for bigger performance gains with a remap. Its mainly for the towing side of things and making it slightly more fuel economical but I'm thinking do I just drive up to powerhouse, leave it with them and go for a wonder round the town for a few hours or do I get the whole snout delivered too me and change a few other bits as well. I'm suspecting the air con radiator is goosed as I had it regassed and a week later it was dead again so thinking maybe doing the air con radiator, the main radiator, belts, tensioner and the snout all in one go.

This is why I'm looking at a power upgrade

Another drunk purchase

David

Hahaha I can't argue with that tbh. It's going to need a fair bit of treatment already but it's something else too keep me busy I guess.

Picked up a welding set so time to get some practise in I guess. This was my first attempt with some gas welding

At least now you can audition 16 girl friends at a time and whittle them down to 3 or 4 that’ll fit in the SC Rolling with laughter 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

So time for an update on this heap I reckon. As I'm keeping it long term, I'm not massively fussed on how good the body work presents within side the doors as they ain't seen and I don't think little lottie (daughter) really cares at the age of 10 months old hahaha.

Start of the day involved shifting the subaru to allow more space at home to do the work, connect up pull trailer out and turns out the brakes are locked on. Learned that the hard way. Bye bye brand new tyre!!!!

So anyways as per usual the arches on this one are on the way out and I've got the mot shortly so figured I best get it all sorted while I can.

Spent a few quid recently on a few parts including new sills from Chris

Drivers side started of like this. Completely forgot a friend had already done the inner seal for me

Started chopping the inner arch out and replaced the sections needed. Quite happy with welding considering I've never done any on a car. Not gonna lie, quite enjoyed it as well.

Anyways sorted most of the inner arch and now moved on too replacing the outer part

Fitted the new door seal to the Offside

Applied the wax oil so just waiting for that to dry off then I'll refit the splash guard and refit the wheel.

Happy with the progress today but other then that Fitted new rear led number plate lights a while ago

Think the part of the rear arches by the bumper I'll get the local bodyshop to fit them and spray it up

Only other issue I've got atm is the fact that there's an electrical fault on the drivers door. For some reason it's not letting the passenger windows go down or letting the passenger mirror work. Already replaced the switch unit so next one will be too investigate the wiring loom
